  1. I'd take 1 but I feel like 2 is a lot more achievable. 1 is the dream off season, 2 is we went all in and this is what we ended up with.
  2. I'm surprised you guys were so pro Ross, I thought he was terrible. My biggest concern was him playing rookies, the organization doesnt have any slam dunk college batting champions like Kris Bryant, its a huge collection of flawed guys who could be very valuable in the right spots. I dont think Ross was the guy to figure that out.
  3. well its definitely not going to be straight up. The Montgomery trade was exactly the type of transaction I've come to expect from this front office. Giving up Torres and more for the rest of the year of Chapman seems out of character and kind of surprising.
  4. Seriously can't believe it would be torres for 2 months of chapman straight up.
  5. At first i thought Torres would be a massive overpay but how important would Chapman be in high leverage post season innings? I'm really hoping for a blockbuster Chapman+extensoin and Eovaldi for Torres plus whatever else they want.
  6. odorizzi/mcgee seems like a ton of value, i couldn't believe the cubs would ever put up that kind of package.
  7. why? I'm hoping they already have a deal in place for Castillo and considered this transaction in the context of it's end result.
  8. I listened to a dave cameron podcast for the first time today and i'm shocked at how much he sounds like the kid from the documentary trekkies
  9. That's a really nice return for the Dodgers, feelin pretty jelly.
  10. I don't think its that bad of a haul for Oakland, that's a lot of years of control of at least 2 MLB players for one year of Shark. I think there's still too much of a tendency to overvalue prospects as opposed to players who have already played at the highest level.
  11. I typically love trades like this from Oakland's perspective, but I've been scouring the information superhighway and this seems like an extremely light return for a player who put up 14.1 fwar over the past two seasons.
  12. I'd be happy with Liriano/McCarthy + Masterson/Anderson + bench OF and C. Then one of Price/Zimmermann next year.
  13. The Red Sox were at $118m in obligations when today started, so it will be interesting to see how these contracts are paid out over the lives of the deals. I was surprised at how much they have expiring in 2015, looks like 44m or so? https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tz8qHiYrIzlFtVnly7gibjw&output=html
