  1. Yeah, I agree. I don't see him being the candidate if he ever got in politics. He seems more like the guy who would run the campaign.
  2. He traded for Rizzo, Fowler, Arrieta, Hendricks, Russell, Montero, Strop and Grimm in a relatively short time period. I can't imagine many other executives could point to a better streak of 'won trades' in such a short window. He drafted playoff vets Bryant, Schwarber, Almora and Zastryzny (kinda sorta). Signed coveted FAs Lester, Zobrist and Heyward to deals under what other teams offered. Then made in season trades that led to a historic World Series win in Chapman and Montgomery. Basically I'm wondering -- did we just witness the greatest 5 year job by a Front Office in history?
  3. Paging backtobanks, paging backtobanks
  4. Tall, athletic, switch hitting centerfielders that can get on base and flash nice power seem pretty rare. I feel like we should try to get him on a healthy 3 year deal with a 4th year kicking in after benchmarks, but I imagine someone else out there way outbids us.
  5. Javy is too valuable to us to trade right now. He can play any infield position better than anyone else in the league, he's cheap, he has a ton of potential left in his bat, and he literally just learned everyone's name on the team. #javyforever

  7. I don't think our FO ever had any real intention of resigning him. We'll see.
  8. Lets convert Heyward to closer
  9. Its been said the Cubs used the rain delay to refocus and get organized, pumped, whatever... I wonder what Cleveland was doing? Picking out their champagne bottles?
  10. We don't win this series without Kyle Schwarber. Talk about an October Surprise.
  11. After all is said and done, tomorrow will be known as the Kyle Game. 12 + 28 = WS PS I am drunk
  12. Was West the guy Arrieta got into a shouting match with maybe in August or so? West is the asshat who tossed Joe after Kyle lost his no hitter in the 9th. We had to get Chapman loose so Joe took a little extra time and West made it about himself.
  13. I think Joe struck with Chapman because he's our best relief pitcher and also if he blew it then we'd have an easy scapegoat to hate all offseason.
  14. awesome autocorrect, and yes that happened. This needs to be a thing. That foul tip caught him right in the member berries. That took some pretty big member berries to throw that pitch in that situation. Andrew Miller can suck my member berries. I wish I could take credit for member berries.
  15. I'm all out of member berries but I fee like KB was rung up on a really low pitch early in the game and then a really high pitch late in the game. Anyone else member this?
  16. So? Its an hour before firs tpitch and hes Bill Murray
  17. OMG is this Kluber guy unhittable? Like that Kershaw guy too? I guess I should just plan to watch college football tomorrow night then huh.
  18. Who would we bench Javy for? Zobrist goes to 2B weakening our defense greatly and then we get LF/RF of Soler/Heyward? Soler/Contreras? Almora/Coghlan? I'll stick it out with Javy, thanks.
  19. I will be at this game. I do hope it does not rain too hard.
