  1. Ah, nuts. At least he's in line for the W. Let's hope Baker plays this smart.
  2. MLB Gamecast needs to get in gear; it just started the McLouth AB.
  3. I wonder what Marshall's PC looks like, considering they didn't start stretching him out until late in Spring Training. I'm guessing ~90 pitches?
  4. he doesnt get an rbi i don't think Mea culpa, imo.
  5. It'd be a nice night to give the key parts of the bullpen a rest, especially after the debacles we've had against the Reds over the past few days.
  6. Shhhhhhhh...let me believe it to be real!
  7. I would like to say that the crooked hat thing reminds me of Mitch Hedberg's act when he was talking about his sister's family's picture...and how everyone is looking a little bit to the left, like something was happening there. And it made everybody happy. Except his sister's cross-eyed, so she couldn't quite pull it off. One eye was right on in looking at the camera. I'd like to nominate myself for most awesome random gameday tangent ever.
  8. Tough inning, but he battled and made it through. Get those runs back Cubbies!
  9. The Red Sox released him. Can't remember if anyone picked him up or not...
  10. Care to elaborate? Are you referring to his tendency to want to "get his starters wins"? I nominate Narron, because it's always too soon to pull your starters when you have the Cincy bullpen. That and his tendency to bring in the bullpen during questionable situations where leaving the starter in is typically the best idea. He's not nearly as bad as some of the others listed, but a guy who uses four pitchers to get three outs in an inning deserves mention. I'll also throw Phil Garner's name in the mix, especially given what just happened to Backe.
  11. Tony LaRussa definitely has his moments.
  12. so, you'd like the cubs to not win as much as possible early on? Maybe it'll get Dusty fired and the Cubs can make a Jack McKeon or even a Phil Garner-like run at the end of the season. ;)

  14. It's sad, but at the same time, it's pretty hilarious. Link Some highlights:
  15. I would also like to point out that Barrett was responsible for one of the most awesome plays I've ever seen from a catcher. Caught stealing, 2 unassisted. I don't remember who the Cubs were playing or who was on base, but Barrett had a guy hung out to dry between 1st and 2nd, who was frozen dead in his tracks. Bare started jogging out towards him, waiting for the guy to make a move, but the runner just stood there. Eventually, Barrett got to the guy and made the easy tag. I think it took me 5 minutes to stop laughing after I saw that.

  17. Through 6, Gallagher's allowed no runs, 6 hits and a walk to go along with 4 Ks for Daytona.
  18. The Reds' defense is just awesome. Here we go again on the basepaths!
  19. I was a bit worried about that Kearns flyout. Pagan kept backing up...and backing up...and backing up...until he finally set his feet and caught it on the warning track.
  20. Let's see if this is a day for small ball...or if Maddux decides to throw batting practice.
