It’s the players fault for signing the CBA. There was never a cap for years and the players caved and got taken to the hoop by the owners. They can renegotiate on 2021 when the current CBA expires. And I think this "soft cap" will be damn near impossible to walk back. Billionaires will always outlast millionaires when there is a work stoppage. The answer isn't trying to force teams to sign aging vets. The answer is to properly compensate players early in their careers and I'm not sure the MLBPA is strong enough to get that kind of concession. -

That's what was reported. Reality was they were expecting more like $70m. Andy McCullough said in an article today that Yu has made it clear he wants to return to the Dodgers and has been waiting for them to shed money. I'm all too ready for some [expletive] organization to bail those fucksticks out.

This was a local town's mascot until the '80s: Good god. I remember when there was a hot debate in Arizona about the high school in Yuma because their nickname is the Criminals, but somehow they managed to not make their logo racist which is actually surprising.

I'm assuming that a farewell tour gives them the opportunity to double dip; sell a ton of the old merchandise before it goes away, and then sell the new stuff like crazy when it comes out, too. But hey, at least this embarrassment is finally getting the boot. Indians, you gotta put off your WS hopes for one more year. Evidently, they're going to have to keep selling Wahoo paraphernalia in order to keep the trademark. The tweet from the Indians announcing the changes is full of pure gold.

That idiot isn't right about anything. He just takes reported info and adds a bit to things. He's played different cards in the same hand for a damn month. He's an ABTY clone. Hell, maybe he is ABTY. Why isn't Sean Sears pretending to know anything this year? I miss watching him get dragged in the responses. When Charles gets dragged he's not defensive so it's way less fun.
