  1. Technically Montero's was the game winner. Zobrist drove in the 7th run. The Indians then scored in the bottom of the 10th which pulled them even with the run Zobrist drove in. https://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Game-winning_run_batted_in Since the Cubs never lost the lead after Zobrist's RBI, he would be credited with the GWRBI. I stand corrected. Sports need to get together on their game winning definitions.

  3. It’s the players fault for signing the CBA. There was never a cap for years and the players caved and got taken to the hoop by the owners. They can renegotiate on 2021 when the current CBA expires. And I think this "soft cap" will be damn near impossible to walk back. Billionaires will always outlast millionaires when there is a work stoppage. The answer isn't trying to force teams to sign aging vets. The answer is to properly compensate players early in their careers and I'm not sure the MLBPA is strong enough to get that kind of concession.
  4. https://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/2017/12/15/16781058/every-mlb-owner-50-million-windfall-2018 $50M The Brewers being a small market club could therotically use that coin to cover overages on a $$$ free agent starter deal that wasn't already in the budget. That's what was reported. Reality was they were expecting more like $70m. It's irrelevant to the pursuit oF free agents, unless, I suppose, they want to sign Darvish to a 1 year $50m deal. $68m reported here.
  5. Edit: I got got. [tweet] [/tweet]You didn't think that was a joke? Can I use tree’s significant other excuse?
  6. I think it was more like $70m. But that's a one time payment, so I'm not sure that matters in the least.
  7. Have you been asleep for the entire Epstein Era or something?
  8. I think the speculating on things like this is funny. One thing I've noticed is he's stopped messing with reports on twitter which I enjoyed thoroughly
  9. Article: http://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/la-sp-dodgers-mailbag-matt-kemp-20180129-story.html Dood had a nice RATM reference thrown into his article. We need more of this. Hahahahaha and some other horsefeathers in the Metrosex is saying Yu "clearly" wants to return to Texas. Ok nobody knows horsefeathers and Yu is probably going to sign with a KBO.
  10. Andy McCullough said in an article today that Yu has made it clear he wants to return to the Dodgers and has been waiting for them to shed money. I'm all too ready for some [expletive] organization to bail those fucksticks out.
  11. This was a local town's mascot until the '80s: Good god. I remember when there was a hot debate in Arizona about the high school in Yuma because their nickname is the Criminals, but somehow they managed to not make their logo racist which is actually surprising.
  12. Are the Twins still doing that thing where they're publicly saying they "really want a sit down" with Yu but screen all his calls and then call back saying they just missed him?
  13. I'm assuming that a farewell tour gives them the opportunity to double dip; sell a ton of the old merchandise before it goes away, and then sell the new stuff like crazy when it comes out, too. But hey, at least this embarrassment is finally getting the boot. Indians, you gotta put off your WS hopes for one more year. Evidently, they're going to have to keep selling Wahoo paraphernalia in order to keep the trademark. The tweet from the Indians announcing the changes is full of pure gold.
  14. My favorite thing about Levine currently is his inability to spell Yelich correctly.
  15. That idiot isn't right about anything. He just takes reported info and adds a bit to things. He's played different cards in the same hand for a damn month. He's an ABTY clone. Hell, maybe he is ABTY. Why isn't Sean Sears pretending to know anything this year? I miss watching him get dragged in the responses. When Charles gets dragged he's not defensive so it's way less fun.
  16. yes. It's kind of embarrassing. I don't usually go with this media member hates my favorite team take, but he sure seems to dislike the Cubs for some reason.
  17. [tweet] [/tweet] So I never really paid attention to Heyman until last trade deadline. But after the Bryce "article" and now this gem, I was wondering, has he always been this useless and full of non-information?
  18. Without taking contracts into consideration it's the Yelich deal and it's not all that close. But, Yelich was also the most valuable of the three.
  19. I completely forgot that I couldn't even hate follow Jesse Rogers anymore because he's just so stupid. [tweet] [/tweet] Then he pulls off this tweet that somehow shows up in my timeline and it all comes rushing back.
  20. I dunno They'll be trading Santana and Phillips for pitching I'd bet and I wonder if Neil Walker doesn't sign there as well. [tweet] [/tweet] Well that's clearly not happening now
  21. And Thames? I dunno They'll be trading Santana and Phillips for pitching I'd bet and I wonder if Neil Walker doesn't sign there as well.
  22. Braun to 1st And Thames?
