  1. Well, he really didn't try to hard to get out of the way
  2. The one that hits one hard down the line and has the 3b make a nice play? The DP sucked, but that wasnt a 2008 lee swing.
  3. Thank god for WCIU, no idiot announcers.
  4. Every time Wells starts I feel like his magic is going to run out soon and get creamed. Prove me wrong again, plz, wells.
  5. That's what I was thinking. We're a Soto away from having out actual team out there.
  6. They can have vitters. I would need to change my pants if we got Hernandez.
  7. Lineups: Fukudome CF Theriot SS Lee 1B Ramirez 3B Bradley RF Soriano LF Fontenot 2B Hill C Wells P Taveras CF Rosales 3B Votto 1B Phillips 2B Nix LF Gomes RF Hannigan C Janish SS Harang P
  8. Oh come on, IMB. I'm certainly not trying to make an argument that he abused volquez anywhere near the extent that he did Prior/wood. What I was saying was simply that a Volquez threw 110+ (Which has been considered 'a lot' for quite some time now) on 14 occasions in 08 - with four of them coming in consecutive starts in games that meant absolutely nothing, and that probably isn't exactly doing the best job of Volquez' arm.
  9. They were actually talking about this the other day on ESPN (I know, I know) and they made a pretty good point about the fact that with the increase in training and such - both hitters and pitchers are better than they were 'back in the day.' Their point to this was that some pitchers from years past talked about being able to 'coast' for a few hitters, but now days there is such an emphasis on offense that even 7-8-9 hitters on many teams (the area where a pitcher may have been able to throw less than his best stuff before) are talented enough to require a pitcher to throw more of his best stuff. Which means more strain on the arm, and more breaking balls - which is harder on the arm.
  10. Cards lose!
  11. Cabrera just hit for the cycle on a ball that Dye should have caught if he didn't take a godawful route to it. Wow.
  12. Hawk re-calling Wise's catch during the perfect game, sounds like he's about to have an orgasm.
  13. DeRosa flies out. 2 down, molina coming up.
  14. Crazy Eyes apparently actually has something wrong with his eyes. Or his arm. Because he can't throw a damn strike.
  15. Great, runner on for DeRo. Watch him hit one about 400 feet.
  16. Wow, Hughes is just painting corners with a 95MPH fastball right now. Wicked.
  17. God hawk is so annoying. As Phil Hughes comes into the game and Stone is trying to give a bit of a report on him... Stone: *something along the lines of how he was a starter converted set-up man Hawk: How bout a bullet right over the right field fence (in reference to Dye) Stone:....he was mentioned in just about every potential deal around the trade deadline..
  18. Oh thank god, Ludwick got caught on a strike-em-out, throw-em-out DP
  19. Hush up. He's due up next with a runner on first, 1 out, and pujols currently batting.
  20. ok psycho What's so psycho about it? Do you think Baker is losing any sleep over all the arms he's destroyed? What the hell else is a guy like Volquez going to do? For most these guys, baseball is all they have. but what does cubsnclippers have to say about it, thats what i wanna know.
  21. Looks like I picked a good time to travel home where I have CSN available to me.
  22. 6 innings. 5 innings. Whoops. Got ahead of myself, somehow. And Wainwright breaks it up in the top of the 6th. That's what you get Roast! Darnit. 8-)
  23. Either the home plate ump at the stros/cards game is wildly inconsistent or gameday is.
