  1. Did we really just get shut out by this lehr fool? jesus, glad I missed this game.
  2. Lou's interview was good for a couple of more statements starting in "Look..." but that's about it. Also, lol @ that injury. Yeah, I'm a bad person.
  3. Don't worry, guys, Miles is starting at SS and batting second tonight. Everything is going to be OK.
  4. BUMP. With albert hitting GS number 5 on the year yesterday (wow), I decided to go ahead and bump this and see how the totals look now: This year, there have been 92 grand slams hit in Major League Baseball; - 39 in the AL - 53 in the NL For comparison, last year there were 124 grand slams hit in Major League Baseball; - 72 in the AL - 52 in the NL So, the NL has already surpassed last years mark but the AL has a little ways to go. Also, Philly leads all of baseball with 8 grand slams. Pujols has more grand slams this year than all but 7 teams in baseball (not counting his own, obviously). Finally, I should add that this does not count any GS's hit today and according to the game thread a pitcher from the Giants has already hit one today.
  5. Well, that's pretty cool
  6. Yeah, bradley has actually been pretty good recently. Especially when it comes to getting on base.
  7. There is nothing in this world or the next that could make me feel bad for the Mets or their fans. You sound like Santo. Still pissed about 1969 Fred? I never miss the reruns of the movie Fail Safe on TV..... just so I can see New York get nuked !!! eta: for the record, Santo sounds like me !! That's awesome. :-))
  8. Good lord mets, talk about bad luck.
  9. Yeah, aside from all the injuries, Citi Field's effect on Wright's power is probably the biggest story involving this team. I have to think that after two straight collapses and what is turning out to be a disastrous season, the Mets will strongly consider blowing up the roster. One of their better players might become available. If the Cubs could somehow get Jose Reyes, that would be sweet. I know some Mets fans want to get rid of him ASAP. But he's typically a 155 game SS who is a significant upgrade to Theriot. Then the midget brigade can platoon at 2B. Well, if MLB09 the show is any barometer, the cubs ended up getting wright around 2010 and reyes at about 2013. Really, though, I would love to see Reyes at short. God that would be awesome.
  10. Cubs win division, Wild Card comes out of the NL west.
  11. Lohse lasts 2 2/3 innings, leaves with the bases juiced. Fatty Reyes coming in.
  12. Pujols is good at baseball.
  13. Why was his jersey untucked...they lost.
  14. Really, really glad I forgot to start lohse today.
  15. Yay pitcher RBI's
  16. That's what I thought. WTF mets.
  17. did something stretching for a ball when he was covering first. Then his first warmup pitch after that he goes down like he was shot. Looks to have hyperextended his knee. I know that's horrible to laugh at, but the mental image is making me LOL.
  18. wtf happened?
  19. As I said in the GT, tonight could well have been a mirage, but this is a guy who had a fairly solid 200 inning season in 2007. If Tom ends up being close to that pitcher again, Hendry made a damned good trade. Of course being a flyball pitcher at PNC helped (and will hurt at Wrigley), but he's not bad for what amounts to a throw in. Well, Lilly has managed to do pretty well as a flyball pitcher. He should be ok. Except Ted strikes out more guys, has a better k/9 and allows fewer baserunners. This is also very true.

  21. 50% would be about right. It really begs the question as to what Albert would fetch in the open market today? He is easily worth more than Arod, but can that type of contract be had for the next couple of years. $30 million doesn't seem like a number that out of reach for him. I don't think there's any way Pujols doesn't catch 30 mil barring something like an injury or a complete market crash.
  22. :D
