  1. It's easy to assert things. It's harder to prove them. Soriano's OPS+ over the past three years (05,06,07): 109, 135, 123 Murton's OPS+ over the past three years (05,06,07): 132, 104, 100 So a difference of 10 points a year on average in a stat that ignores Murton's strength over Soriano (OBP) and overvalues one of Soriano's strengths (SLG)? ten points per year? the 132 from murton is blown way out of proportion because it was in like 58 games. In the other two years Soriano beats him by 31 and 23 points respectively. And since when did OPS+ ignore OBP?
  2. And nobody saying murton is a bad ballplayer - but to say he's better than murton is ludicrous.
  3. His day is done. If he comes up to bat this inning he'll come out. Otherwise - I could totally see him pitching next inning. *AHEM* :D

  6. Harang at 95 pitches. He should be good for two more innings.
  7. The last 5 pitches have been outside. I think harang is seeing the plate a little to the left.
  8. You're saying his approach at the plate has changed since he was a Cub? Looks like the same Cpat to me. Even has the same OBP. Strikes out much less, but yeah - he still isn't good.
  9. K. Demps is at 90 pitches now, though.
  10. LOL I GET IT BECAUSE THEY BOTH PLAY THE OUTFIELD AND WERE BOTH HIGHLY TOUTED PROSPECTS LOL DuBois was highly touted? Well, around here. He was "touted" in that people waned to see him play over Hollandsworth. That's like saying Theriot was "highly touted" because people here generaly wanted him starting instead of Izturius. Jeez, nitpick much? I was being completely sarcastic anyway. The point is that Pie and Dubois are a terrible comparison.
  11. LOL I GET IT BECAUSE THEY BOTH PLAY THE OUTFIELD AND WERE BOTH HIGHLY TOUTED PROSPECTS LOL HAHAHA Yea and they are both AAAA players. Haha And you've been able to deduce this from the sporadic at bats a TWENTY THREE year old has gotten over the course of a season? Yes Roast, I am only looking at his fewer than 30 ABs this season. Not last season or anything else. Long swing, inability or unwillingness to make adjustments, etc. Let's just agree to disagree, I know I am in the minority here and don't want to turn the game thread into another "I like this prospect/I think he sucks" debacle. I was talking about last year. He never got consistent at-bats last year outside of a two-week or so stretch when he first came up. anyway, on to the game.

  14. Which is exactly why he needs more than 7 AB's every 6 games.
  15. Its showing 70 for me with Dempster at 64. He posted that before he made the last ten pitches of the inning...
