  1. You are weird. Why? What's impressive about a guy coming to a new country and hitting over .300 with a .409 OBP and a 118 OPS+ in his first year in the big leagues while showcasing an absolute cannon arm in right field? Unimpressive.
  2. I'm in favor of IR in some cases. I would make the following plays up for replay: Fair/Foul, HR/In play, Safe/out at any base. I would then put in an NFL-style rule that each team only gets one or two replays per game.
  3. And this can be clearly seen by the fact that we don't have a big lead yet in mid-may. if dayn perry is right and we're going to get less pitching and not better pitching (i don't know how much stock i put into it) and slightly worse offense we might be in some danger, holy crap! pick on bigslick now I don't buy the pitching part of that. I don't think there's any doubt that Z can continue to be an ace, especially if he keeps walking as few as he has. Lilly seems to be back to pitching like he did all of last year. I believe that Dempster will probably fall off from where he's at but Gallagher has been showing promise and I think it's a pretty safe assumption that, at some point, hill will be back and not pitching nearly as bad as marquis. The point is, there's no reason to think our pitching is going to fall off. As for the offense, it's highly unlikely we keep having 5 guys put up a .400 OBP but at the same time between Soriano, Lee, Ramirez, Soto, and Fukudome we aren't going to have to worry about scoring runs. Furthermore, we're still the best team in our division. The brewers have fallen off, the Astros have poor pitching, and there's no way the cardinals can keep playing so well with their pathetic pitching staff and meh offense. All in all - It's MAY.

  5. Oh god. The padres caught cubs syndrome.
  6. Well, I'm inclined to agree with you but then again if Hill ever re-learns how to throw strikes and Lilly can continue pitching like he has been we at least have a strong 1-3. Of course, that's a lot of if's. But I think they're all fairly plausible.
  7. Well if the change in his swing really has helped him become good at playing baseball, then AWESOME. I still don't trust him to keep up these numbers through the end of the season. I hope I'm wrong.
  8. I like Gallagher a lot but like others I don't feel too optimistic about his start tonight. I hope i'm very wrong. Go Sean!
  9. Today's match up: Mr. I just saw boobs for the first time http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_451595.jpg Vs. This guy http://houston.astros.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_276336.jpg So anyway...how bout not losing today? EDIT: 19400. yay?
  10. johnson, blanco. cedeno. Not much home run power. Cubs blow almost as much as Edmonds. Cedeno has surprising power. He'd at least be better then fontenot.
  11. I really hate you valverde. just pitch the damn ball.
  12. CB Bucknor is horrible at calling balls and strikes. jesus.
