  1. Gameday showed both of the last two pitcehs on fukudome as being way outside. Not that it matters.
  2. I wish i gave a hoot about hockey. That would make tonight a lot more worthwhile.
  3. Haha, nice. A long at bat ended with a homer.
  4. Just got home. Looks like a game i'm glad to be missing.
  5. Still haven't told me what you're basing this on. Obviously it's not this years numbers because Kosuke is tearing it up. Obviously not last year's numbers because lee wasn't bad last year. Plus, still nothing on Fontenot, Dempster, and Soto. Kosuke's fine. And before anyone says "he did well early last year before the league had a book on him", let me point out they still had that same book on opening day this year, and it hasn't stopped Fuku from raking. He has adjusted to it. Lee, however, may well be washed up. Yeah, I'm not doubting that lee is on a downturn in his career. I was moreso pointing out how ridiculous his argument was. As for Kosukue, he'll be fine. He wont hit this well all year long but I don't think he's going to fall off like last year.

  7. With Lee, Ramirez, and Bradley all out with day-to-day injuries our offense looks something like this: -Soriano LF -Theriot SS -Fukudome RF -Hoffpauir 1B -Johnson CF -Fontenot 3B -Soto C -Miles 2B …with a bench of: Koyie Hill. Unless someone is ready to play tonight they have to make a move. Right?
  8. He has been really good this year. D-Backs offense is that bad. No run support at all. Yeah, I just looked it up. He only allowed 4 runs in 4 starts throwing for 26 innings. The DBacks got shut out twice when he started. I feel bad for the guy, he seems to have been really good so far. You know this means that we're going to score like 6 runs off him in the first three innings while lilly gives up 7 and Haren gets the win.
  9. Toolsy middle infielder who can't hit. Pass on a college version of Adam Dunn. Wait, you still haven't answered why 2008 is the only way to judge Kosuke but a terrible way to judge Lee, Soto, Fontenot, and Dempster.
  10. How quickly we forget 2008. Well if you're going to play that card then we shouldn't be worried about Bradley. Or Dempster. Or Soto. Or Fontenot. Or even Lee considering - while not great - his 08 numbers were at least acceptable.
  11. completely washed up: "Lee, Bradley, Fuku" couldn't hit: "Fontenot, Soto, and the bench" Terrible signings that pitched terribly "the entire bullpen and Ryan Dempster" LOL What part of Fuku is telling you that he's completely washed up? I mean, Bradley is off to a godawfully slow start and even though he won't continue to hit at that low of a rate at least I can see where the overreaction is coming from. But Fuku is tearing the cover off the ball.
  12. This thread needs some LOLERSKATES or ROFLCOPTERS
  13. No, it was back issues IIRC. Either way, this team is effed if they keep getting injured.
  14. Already turned it off. This team's not fun right now.
  15. Sounds like Karros and Brennamen, but look at this garbage, hadn't seen it posted anywhere. "expect Reed Johnson, Kosuke Fukudome and possibly Joey Gathright in the Cubs' outfield" http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090425&content_id=4418262&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
  16. My question is who the hell is contacting the cubs about their relief pitchers? I mean, outside of marmol, who could they actually WANT on their team? Really though, I don't want to see Neal Cotts on the mound ever again -and I don't care if that means going all-righty for a while. A righty that is okay against lefties is a lot better than a lefty who sucks against everyone.
