  1. Dude you are a Cub fan. Go to work, aint nothing going to happen. In fact its better to work so you dont get pissed off waiting for crap to happen.
  2. The Giants have made a late bid for Randy Winn, offering two mid-level prospects, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. A Mariners source told the paper Saturday that there is a 90 percent chance Winn will be dealt before the deadline. The Mariners will likely recall Chris Snelling after Winn goes. Winn could play center and left in San Francisco. Jul. 30 - 7:41 pm et Source: Seattle Post-Intelligencer Either the West is an absolute joke or Sabean is off his rocker. Sabean doesn't even have a rocker, the rockers belong to Bonds, Alou, Visquel, and the other geezers on the team. Thats great! oh....Foppert was BA #5 prospect in 2003.
  3. I hope im not being to anxious, but this is a good sign. 3 starts in a row. I got a wedding to attend at 4 which totally sucks.
  4. I think he rolled his ankle. Has anybody told Baker that Hairston on crutches would be a better option than Jose Freakin' Macias? I wonder if Baker even knows Gerut is a centerfielder. Gerut is coming back from an offseason knee surgery and is still wearing a huge brace. Would it really be a good idea to send him out on a wet field and play center. Thats my guess as why we didnt see him last night in the field.
  5. Feliz's HR was on a very good pitch, he hits a HR on that pitch maybe 1 out of 50 swings. I agree, when i saw that highlight i was like gimme a break. Feliz is a hack with power, he hacked and got lucky he hit on the screws.
  6. Normally i am not happy with the Cubs facing these 2 guys in the next 2 days but i feel good about this. Lowry can be had an Rueter just doesnt bother me a whole lot anymore. Now id like to see murton today AND tomorrow. Holla is been real crappy lately and it seems all he is doing is pulling everything, these lefties will eat him up.
  7. 2nd in SLG is really surprising. I too dont see the point of keeping him peoria any longer. Once this 3 game series is done and he works with his future double play partner its time to move south. BTW who is this hottest woman on the planet? Is she even a women yet, she looks younger than 18. Also this chic needs to lay of the lip gloss, shes got it all over her face.
  8. some of us saw it annoying when it was starting. they weren't as bad as they were playing, but they aren't this good either. Chase Utley for the Phillies is great. I love all the main sites and sourses saying the phils are shopping Billy Wagner. Yeah in the heat of the playoff race they are going to get rid of their closer. I agree all these reports about billy wagner traded are funny. Philly is a streaky team like the Cubs. Astros have played their best ball of the year, it wont get any better for them.
  9. yeah, say hello to a legit set up man.
  10. Yeah this is good to see. I like bartosh. Him and Ohman look like they have good potential for the Cubs as Loogy's. Both these guys have very good sliders/curves. Ohman looked filthy last night.
  11. Damn a 12:30 start, didnt know that. i see murton/burni/twalk doing good.
  12. I like Gerut for theses same reasons. Gerut to me is a better platoon player that dubois. dubois just misses to much and walks infrequently to be a good platooner. Gerut has good plate discipline and presence by his k/bb ratio. I like his numbers in that area better than holla too. Guys who dont play every day with poor discipline either have great days or really bad. Gerut will be more consitant in the platoon role than dubois will ever be. Plus hes very versitile which is great for a 4/5th OF.
  13. Im not too crayzy about my list. Pie at #1 was pretty easy. After that its real close between players. 1. Pie 2. Marshall 3. Murton 4. Moore 5. Harvey 6. Patterson 7. Hill 8. Pinto 9. Pawelek 10. Dope I cant believe moore is outperforming dope, i know this is a repeat for moore but they are only 1 month apart, thats why i give the edge to moore plus dope's defense is awful. He's got DH written all over him and that limits his value. I gotta put the kid pawelek somewhere. Im not crazy about harvey, his numbers havent been impressive, im only going on what ive heard on his tools. Ryu is making a nice comeback but not enough to crack the top 10 again
  14. When was the last time williamson pitched? i havent seen his name for a while, any news on him?
  15. They were worse than the clippers when he bought them. He has really turned them around since he bought them. They were one sorry franchise with terrible attendance. Cuban loves the lime light and being the owner of the dallas mavs isnt anything close to the Cubs.
  16. Time for him to start sucken again.
  17. If the Nationals aren't going to win the division, thus being relegated to the WC then you have to consider the gap as 8.5 (the games the Cubs are behind WAS) and not the 6 games they are behind the Braves. And a 38-36 record gets the Nationals to 90 wins which has been pretty much the minimum for the WC. This is a good point but the nationals are lucky they arent 38-36 right now, and headed for worse times come july/aug/sep. That bullpen is going to implode. They have 4 guys in the pen over 30 IP and 3 over 40 IP already, the Cubs have only guy over 30IP out of the pen is Weurtz. Its hard to image the Cubs gaining 8 games in only 80 games but the Nationals are going to have a series of games where they lose a lot and as shown early in this thread they got a real tough schedule coming there way.
  18. What impresses me about Murton is his high bb/k ratio along with his obp. Dude is working the count deep to get his walks yet isnt striking out a whole lot, thats a sign of a good batsmen. Now if he hits .300 .380 with 20 homers whats wrong with that? Not every team in mlb has those types of players even at the corner position. Few teams have 2 of the prototypical power corner outfielders anyway and at least he would have the high obp to offset this lack of prototype power. Dude is an everyday major league outfielder, maybe not in a big market but somewhere.
  19. Those 14 games against st. loius stick out like a sore thumb.
  20. Great. The 2nd game is on WGN. Now i have no excuses to not watch this sinking ship sink.
  21. Im going to suspect Lee hurt his shoulder on the play Wood threw to first 2 days ago. Lee stretched for the throw and all his weight landed on the glove sided shoulder.
  22. Right now im optimistic because the wild card will come from the Cubs/Stros or the NL east. The NL east will beat each other up an the Cubs will get in because they are playing cincy/mil/pit/stros not atl/fl/phi/nym/nats. Thats a pretty sad way to look at things but thats all i got right now.
  23. Im sick of baseball right now. No really explain this to me and i might change my mind. Nationals 50-32 Cubs 40-41 Nationals 337-338 runs scored Cubs 363-364 runs scored Eh? Baseball is such a silly game.
  24. The Nats are 15 games above .500 and the Cubs are 3. If that doesnt piss you off enough to want a sweep i dont know what does. The Nats smoke and mirrors road show comes to an end this weekend.
  25. Not saying i agree with what Dusty is doing but i thought i remember him saying that if he puts corey in the leadoff hopefully that will make him more patient and swing at only good balls. I think that is a good experiement....for a short time to see if corey does make those adjustments. Neifi in the 2 hole. No. Id rather see walker.
