What about Robbie Ray, though he just made his first start in Double A. He's the National's version of Dillon Maples from the 2010 draft, except of course, pitching. He's a lefty who sits in the low 90s but can turn it up to 96. He was all kinds of awful in High A as a 20 year old -- he had one more strikeout than runs allowed -- but this year he's been pretty good in his second trip to Potomac. He's leading the league in strikeouts, just ahead of teammate AJ Cole. He has some walks issues, but he's a young lefty with a pretty good arm who has, to this point, gotten a bunch of whiffs. He may have powered himself above Sammy Solis and Brett Mooneyham, but he was pretty far off the radar coming into the season. While I'd love Purke or Mooneyham, or even Solis, Ray also interests me though it's a pipe dream scenario. I don't know anything about Ivan Pineyro, but he's intriguing. He pitched well in A before making the jump to High A, has a good career K rate and doesn't walk a lot of people. No idea what stuff he has though.
