Shark and Travis Wood are pretty damn good and I assume Matt Garza is staying here unless they can get a really good package for him built around pitching. You add a David Price and you have four stud pitchers. What needs to be fixed is the bullpen but I think that's a pretty quick fix via free agency.
Yuck. I'm happy with Bryant pick tonight, but it's disheartening to know that right now Pierce Johnson is the entirety of the Chicago Cubs pitching farm system. I don't really have a lot of faith in Vizcaino's health. Paniagua, Maples. What about Duane Underwood and Paul Blackburn? Too early to tell but there's some young talent about to start pitching.
He's been terrible at managing the bullpen. My only read gripe with him. Camp and Rondon shouldn't be on this team, and the same could be said for Marmol. They are are disasters. No excuse for the best reliever on this team (outside of Kevin Gregg I guess) to face one batter. Camp has had nothing all season.
He's 1/2 with a BB in game 2 so far, i'll take it regardless of the D. I love what Dillion Maples did tonight though. I believe Byron Buxton went 0-3 against him with a strikeout.
yeah, no way we win again While this team is still probably going to make the playoffs, if this team can't beat a good team, this team isn't winning in the playoffs especially on the road which is the likely scenario now. It's as simple as that.
