  1. There's a reason why Bobby Valentine hasn't been in baseball (MLB) for a decade.
  2. Oh hey look one of our rivals has starter who suddenly becomes good out of nowhere. Getting old.
  3. Bowden goes to the bullpen I assume? Or do they try starting him with Dempster out? Obviously Wells goes tomorrow but next week?
  4. Trade is official after the Red Sox game per Bruce Levine. Don't know who we got back for sure.
  5. Yes, it's Soto's fault that the Cubs have no power and no patience. It must be all the dope he's smoking. This isn't the point at all. The Cubs won more games the last two years when Koyie Hill caught and the guy couldn't hit at all. I'm not a Soto hater by any means. I loved him when he first came up in 2007 and when he won Rookie of the Year in 2008 but the guy has just regressed and he hurts the Cubs more than he helps them at this point. Plus, he's 29 years old AKA not in the Cubs plans for the future. I'd like to see what Wellington Castillo and Steve Clevenger can do behind the plate for the rest of the year. Odds are, they aren't the catchers of the future either but it can't hurt to take a look.
  6. And the Cubs move to 3-1 in games in which Steve Clevenger starts. 1-10 in games that Soto starts. Seemed to be the same way when Koyie Hill caught too. Don't think this is a blip on the radar. Soto can call a game.
  7. Oh thank God! I don't care if we get a bag of baseballs back for Byrd. People are saying Michael Bowden might be involved FWIW.
  8. Soto is not really this bad and if we're going to ship him out, it's best to let him build some value. Benching him now wouldn't be the wisest thing to do. Soto is awful. Not only is he a below-average hitter but I'd say he's one of the worst fielding catchers in baseball and he can't throw anyone out.
  9. Soto: .153 (6-39) Is there really any harm in trying Wellington out? I could see Jackson and Rizzo. But come on.
  10. Marlon Byrd: .071 (3-42) Geovany Soto: .158 (6-38)
  11. It seems like it always benefits the other team even though it's the same both ways.
  12. I'm so glad we're paying 90% of Zambrano's salary and all we got in return was Chris Volstad. Should have just kept Zambrano and had him destruct on this team. But no the fans wanted Zambrano gone. The same idiot fans that wanted Kerry Wood to come back another year. Theo just needs to do his own thing and stop listening to these fans that have supported a losing culture for decades.
  13. Marlon Byrd is seriously my least favorite Cub in the last decade. Hate him more than Milton Bradley, who doesn't deserve to be hated. Guy is awful and when he was hitting he couldn't do it in the clutch. Terrible.
  14. Yeah that's not good at all. I thought we were done seeing Randy Wells pitch in the Major Leagues.
