The men play their under 23 team in the Olympics, I think a few spots are open to older players who are on their way out of international soccer. There's speculation that this will be the direction the US goes in basketball after this Olympic team. The rules are: any U-23 player selected must be released by their club - a maximum of three players may be over 23, but their clubs are under no obligation to release them. Why do they have these rules for soccer?

I don't know much about Olympic soccer, but none of the really big names play? I heard Beckham has never played in the Olympics?

Talk is that Teheran or an upper level prospect is what the Cubs would want. The Braves' pitching prospects haven't been that fantastic and Teheran, while young, hasn't impressed yet. Demp plus LaHair for Teheran? The Braves will need an outfielder next year with Prado moving to third.

Atlanta sports talk is bringing up Dempster in a trade for Teheran, last year's #1 prospect in baseball. Would the Braves do that considering Demp is in the last year of his contract?

I haven't listened to Hawk one time this year, but boy is he bad. He doesn't even explain what is happening on the field. Peavy throws a wild pitch and I have no idea if the runners moved up. But he continues to not say what's happening on the field. What announcer let's his team's poor play get to him?

Doesn't some of that have to do with the par being 70 rather than 72? If it was a par 72, the winning score would have been -7 and 26 players would have finished under par. Considering that the extra 2 strokes to par would have been par 5's, you are probably right.

The USGA tries to make their signature tournament like a British Open championship which just doesn't make sense. Bouncing the ball up onto the green isn't American golf. Wow that drunk Brit scared the heck out of me. It's like he just jumped out of the TV.
