  1. Send Arencibia to the Cubs for the ability to start d'Arnaud.
  2. I would sell my dog's first born puppy for Gausman to fall to 6. I swear I'd do it.
  3. Speaking of Peoria, I just found out Austin Reed is there. He's getting alot of ground balls and has improved his K rate from last year. Seems like he's got your typical minor league sinkerballs profile, but I don't know what he actually throws. I only know he had a pretty good changeup for a HS RHP when he was drafted. I imagined Keith Foulke back then. Pretty sweet for Baez. I hope he destroys nations in Peoria.
  4. 2/4 = 1/2 = Not bad...Talking about today's SP (McNutt and Concepcion).
  5. Pretty much....Arizona killed it with their two picks last year...I wouldn't even lose too much sleep over not being able to sign the highly touted but already injured HS arm, stem cells or not dammit. I hope that if they do take Giolito they go upside with the first few picks that way not signing him really wouldn't be such a big deal even for this individual draft.
  6. Well if Giolito doesn't sign the Cubs get the 7th pick next year to go along with the likely 1-3 pick.
  7. Yeah, so he's an [expletive]. I have no idea where my Facebook came from (lies), but I'm pretty sure it was made to keep tabs on me. I lost patience when I tried to delete it. There's still a picture from when my sister graduated HS 5 years ago as my profile picture.
  8. There's talk about Zunino being overrated due to the college bat class, but I think Shaffer has been the largest benefactor of that. Not that he's a bad prospect or anything...Just not the type of guy who is usually a top 2 college bat.
  9. No, and most things can be attributed to Ricketts. He's cutting payroll! He's letting the Dodgers be the mid-tier but big market team to make the rise to the top (with Ned Colletti)! He's the reason I've watched three seasons of three different shows this week. That's got to total 24 hours, easy. You do realize that Ricketts offered Epstein a virtually open checkbook and he was the one to chose this direction, right? Hmmmm..... I like you for your ability to detect sarcasm. Ricketts is the way the truth and the light.
  10. I hope Baez is an [expletive] on Twitter and in real life.
  11. 3B or LF could be upgraded...C too.
  12. Tss where's that, da moon or somethin? I think Dempster is almost certainly traded to the Yankees, Red Sox, or Tigers. Almost got me there on Soriano to the Tigers, but Soriano is near impossible to trade in my head. I won't believe it possible until the trade actually happens. Same for Marmol unless the Marlins are even more in than they were this offseason. Soto I could see them trading now to a contender who knows that he can play. Baker might go somewhere. Here's hoping they are really successfully active during trade season. I didn't think any explanations were crazy, it's just hard to see getting enough back on some/most? of those players to care.
  13. I actually think the guy with the highest floor in the draft is Appel. I think if he stays the same he's a harder throwing/younger Ryan Dempster type starter.
  14. He can still pull off a Travis Fryman career, right? Right guys?
  15. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/mauers-comeback-albatross-no-more/ The point of posting this is that the article suggests that Joe Mauer might actually be traded. I repeat...Joe Mauer might actually hit the trade market. Sure it's Joe Mauer for 148 million from 2013 to 2018, but it's Joe Mauer! He'll be 30-35 in this years...I post this because I know if this post is noticed the age will be noted.
  16. Again? Relative to today, no. Relative to the rest of his life, yes.
  18. He's got that as Rizzo in his prime? How incredibly disappointing that would be. I could see him being that type of player over time, but I would have to think in his prime he's got more than an 840 OPS in him. Agreed...there's got to be more power there than that in his prime years.
  19. Foreign girls always get extra points.
  20. No, it works. Yay we held her hand/won alot of games! Yay! OH, there's more!?!?!? That was a weird edit. But no. It was, but yes. When the only guy on your staff who has even close to above average control is the non-power lefty, things can get rocky in the playoff world. Call it bad luck...I call it having your third best pitcher from the 2003 Almost WS team and a guy who lived on the DL as your top two pitchers. That team was a nice team. Nobody cares anymore. There's plenty of room to go up from that, and beyond the regular season success of the lineup even that can be done better. When that happens, Len and Bob will be the [expletive] in the broadcasting world.
  21. No, it works. Yay we held her hand/won alot of games! Yay! OH, there's more!?!?!?
  22. Considering Len & Bob don't call postseason games, the regular season is all that matters. Yeah well...still room to go up...like when the Cub Network or whatever it will be called is launched. Edit: HA! Bob does. We're both asses for not knowing, but the information benefits me.
  23. That was Len and Bob right? Those guys are going to get so much love when the Cubs are a good team and they keep working together. I hope when the Cubs Network happens they take the booth. You know the Cubs had two pretty good teams, including one that just pounded on the opposition in 2008, while Len and Bob were here, right? That said, yes, Len and Bob are awesome. I'm still trying to figure out what the relevance of the first part is. Is pretty good a standard or something? Pretty good was an intentional understatement. ...So it was a standard? My new temporarily favorite show, The New Girl, taught me something. It taught me that holding hands with the pretty girl is not closing the pretty girl. Len and Bob broadcast for a couple of pretty good Cubs teams. I like to think the future is a little bit brighter for the broadcast guys and the Cubs. I do believe they can do better than piling up regular seasons wins (yes, admittedly it was fun) only to be bounced by the Dodgers (beyond the two K lefties in that franchise I find the whole LA history of that franchise to be a non-entity) in the first round. I watched the 2002 Yankees win 103 games while pounding on the opposition. Ask a Yankee fan to recall that glorious season...2004 won 101 (2003 also won 100+)...2005 won 95...2006 won 97...Nobody cares.
