  1. I'm kinda worried this is a sign the FO thinks Contreras' receiving skills are such a disaster/nowhere near ready that they'd rather play with essentially a man down on the MLB roster than run the slight risk of losing T-Fed on waivers.
  2. lol, that foul ball call was pretty sweet
  3. That single play by Soler was just as unlikely as the entire Ryan O'Malley shutout.
  4. Oblique would me more like 2 months minimum I'd think because it didn't appear to just be a minor tweak and the Cubs really take it slow with injuries. Maybe human obliques heal differently, but Seal Boy missed like 5 months and there was no one obvious play where he injured it unlike Heyward.
  5. That ump had absolutely no idea whether he was out or safe, and they'll still value his call more than the replay.
  6. Interesting strategy by Bochy to put all of his worst hitters at the top of the order.
  7. Watching Peavy and Cain will really make us appreciate Lackey and how impressive his stuff still is at 37 (I still hate him)
  8. I don't mind pinch running for Mr. TOOTBLAN, but using two pinch hitters there and keeping Fed on the roster I do not understand. Kalish can at least feign a decent AB.
  9. Why don't we go ahead and ban davell just to be safe
  10. That was some Rizzo-like TOOTBLANery by KB.
  11. Doesn't TT also hate Vin Scully? Would he call the games?
  12. It's sort of a shock to my system to watch Soler and Russell hit back-to-back in the lineup. The huge, constant disappointment that is Jorge Soler, to Russell, maybe the most underrated player in the MLB and best SS in the NL.
  13. Jorge might have given up an inside the parker in PNC. I still can't get over how bad that was.
  14. Damn, Correa has -7 DRS already this season and an equally terrible UZR. I knew he wasn't great on D, but I didn't realize he was already headed toward "needs to be moved to third base" territory. I'm tempted to rank Russell first after seeing that.
  15. Catching the fake arrow is totally something Starlin would've done. In fact, I think it was just fun enough to get him out of creepy weirdo status.
  16. Rodney picked the absolute right guy to shoot the arrow directly in front of. I'd say about half of the players in the MLB would've punched him in the mouth, and Zobrist gave him a high 5 lol.
  17. I've never been so happy to hear that walkup song.
  18. Smart decision by Alexei to get Rizzo out of the way in the 8th inning.
  19. You can come stay at my place, Jorge.
  20. Addy is giving zero fucks about the new law with the size of the dip he's got in
  21. So obviously the babip will come down and he'll need to walk more, but are we to the point where we're pretty confident Javy is at least a 3 win player, or no? Again, the overall approach could still use some work, but his K rate, much like Bryant's, is making me giddy.
  22. Seriously, stick Zobrist in the outfield so Bryant can be in the convo for best player in baseball.
  23. Out of Dusty I would've expected something more like, "I like him as a young man. Now, will I need to scale him, gut him, and chop off his head sometimes? Maybe. I never waste a good fish."
