I'm really curious how many of these sources are basing this new information almost solely on the Cubs trading Smyly. Listening to the Sharma/Finfer/Greenberg pod, it felt like that's what those guys were doing at least.

I wouldn't trade Schwarber for Doolittle and would only consider Happ if they're desperate to move Chatwood and he gets attached. Giving up significant assets to go into a season with Morrow and Doolittle as your top two relievers is way too risky for me.

I still don't think this FO and another team will agree on Schwarber's value, and Happ's value for us is still significant if Russell departs. I'll be surprised if either gets traded. -
If you edit out the part where Theo specifically said Maddon is coming back for 2019, I would've guessed he is preparing to hire red assed Joe Girardi tomorrow with all the other things he said.
