  1. I'm far from a journalist major but I do know this, you don't misquote anyone. You put their quotes down and let the reader assume the obvious. His assumptions are probably correct but he messed up with this one.
  2. I'm making a custom dog collar for my new pup and I want to put the white cub logo from the 1914 hat. I'm searching the internet and can't find a good image of one, only pictures of the hats. Can anyone help me out with finding a good image of just the logo?
  3. If Theo could sign back up OFers and#4/5 SPs and trade them for prospects like this every year, I'd be a happy camper.
  4. why wouldnt they? if they wer going to for dempster why wouldnt they for maholm if we agreed to pick up his option and pay most of it? maholm for 1.5 yrs is more valuable then dempster for .5 yrs in my opinion Agreed. If they were willing to give up Delgado for Dumpster, why not give him up for a pitcher that is just as hot and a good 4th OFer. I'm not sure WHY they are willing to give up Delgado but who knows?
  5. So how much to the Cubs sign Reed Johnson for in the off season?
  6. Dumpster just realized he pissed off the entire Cubs fan base and screwed the team over. Looks like there is some leverage back for the Cubs, hopefully.
  7. Sometimes things are just things. And sometimes, contrary to 90% of the posters in this forum, it's fun to be positive and hopeful!
  8. Contrary to reports, I believe Garza will make his next start. Why? The Dodgers hold all the cards in a Dumpster trade and have said that they prefer Garza. So Theo uses the minor injury to Garza to say he will not be traded until next off season, virtually taking him off the table. There is now one less pitcher available for the Dodgers to go after which ups Dumpster's value a tad. Now, the Dodgers are pressured into upping the ante or taking on Soriano. After Dumpster is traded to Dodgers for at the very least, Webster, in the next day or two, it comes out that Garza will make his next start. Theo, being pissed at how confident the Dodgers were, turns around and gives Coletti the bird and a big F**K you! Garza has a decent start and is then traded. Wishful thinking but it would be pretty sweet.
  9. And they shouldn't. Dodgers are trying to call the Cubs bluff. If the Cubs are only going to be offered crap that won't help the team they are better off sending a message to the rest of the league's GMs by keeping Dempster if they don't get what they want. The rest of the league will know that if you throw crap at Theo, he would rather not do business with you. What I wrote probably doesn't make sense....but in my head it does! :stickman:
  10. I can't imagine Theo is the type of guy you'd want to piss off. I really have no basis for this but he seem like the type of guy you don't want to cross.
  11. Brett Taylor ‏@BleacherNation Not a huge surprise, but good to know. RT @TBrownYahoo: The Cubs have told Dempster suitors they'd grant a window to negotiate extension.
  12. I defended Dumpster at first not knowing what he said a few weeks/months ago. What a piece of trash. If he only wanted to go to LA then say so to the Cubs and not the entire world before any trade happens. If he doesn't want to be traded then let the Cubs know. Cubs fans, please boo him for me next time he pitches at Wrigley.
  13. I don't have anything against what Dempster is doing. I'm not happy the Cubs aren't getting Delgado but he has the right to veto the Braves trade if he wants. He's playing inside the rules so how can you fault him for that. None of us have ever talked with Dempster about the situation so who are we to judge? Granted, this may be too much common sense for most people on this board but it is what it is...deal with it.
  14. I think the best we can hope for is that Dempster went to Theo and asked him to do whatever possible to get him to LA. Theo goes to LA and says that Demp prefers to go to LA if you can offer something similar to the Atlanta offer. IF LA can't then Demp will go to Atlanta. Doubt this is the case but one can only hope.
