Granted, Ross could be a complete bust too, but so could all of these candidates. What you are hoping for is excellence, the next GM savant like a Ted Thompson type. I just don't get the Emery love? What did he do here that was so great? He wasn't the scout responsible for Urlacher or Mike Brown(arguably the two best picks of that time era for the Bears). He got some nice reviews from Atlanta and KC but how much responsiblity did he have for those picks?

So I hope the Bears are giving a real hard long look at Marc Ross(assuming they haven't made their decision) after watching the Giants game last weekend. I think he's got the most upside of all the candidates.

Thats terrible news. He was the Bears southern scout in 03 and gave the 1st round recommendation on Grossman, so that should tell you about his football accuman.
