  1. Can you tell me which of the seven starters he's going to displace? I bet they start him off in a reliever role like they did with David Price and use him as a spot-starter when an injury comes up. The Rays are probably better off trading one of their starters though, more than likely Shields. They are just stacked. James Shields, David Price, Hellickson, Matt Moore, Wade Davis. And to think they had Matt Garza in 2010.
  2. Archer will be fine. I bet he has a bounce-back year next season and makes the Rays roster fairly quickly into the season. It's not an easy transition to be traded and it takes some guys longer to adjust than others. And if it's McNutt or bust for getting Theo, then I give up McNutt. But I'd much rather give up someone like Vitters with how weak our pitching is in the minor league level. I highly doubt the Cubs want Vitters because he's not an Epstein-type player right now which probably means the Red Sox don't want him either.

  5. Go Rangers. Not happening though. The Cardinals have it.

  7. Saints say "sup?" Aaron Rodgers would carve up that porous defense when they meet in the playoffs.
  8. The NFL is so watered down this year it's not even funny. Does anyone even have a chance at winning it all besides the Patriots and Packers? Maybe the Ravens. And no, the Lions aren't continuing this.
  9. She is much better than some. Pathetic that she still has to put up with comments like this. Hello Carrie Muskat
  10. Texas scored 9 runs in the 3rd and now Detroit is looking like the Cubs in the outfield.
  11. Josh Hamilton just made a catch that looked similar to Todd Hollandsworth's catch against the Angels in 2004. Wish I could find a video of Todd's catch. Of course, MLB's video site only goes back like 3 years.
  12. Apparently the job he did this year with a group of AAAA players and has beens really opened eyes and became more legitimate around baseball. I know I heard rumblings that the Phillies wanted to groom him to take over after Manual leaves/retires. This is good news. I have faith he could be a great manager but I don't want to hate the guy and want him to lose his job.
  13. I just don't Ryno to be a Mike Quade-like manager and get me to hate him. But I assume people have scouted Ryno's managing in the minors and if he's done a good job, he'll get a job. But so many teams have been passing on him so it scares me a little.
  14. Kraplan, but this is good news.
  15. Didn't the White Sox announce the Robin Ventura hiring during the playoffs? I honestly don't think MLB cares when it's announced.
  16. Give me Prince Fielder. Cheaper and younger. The Cubs aren't going to compete next year so you bring in Prince and build a team around him and Starlin. Bring in pitching, pitching, and more pitching and we have a contender for the next few years with Prince and Starlin as the centerpieces.

  18. Crawford's contract gets better if the Red Sox send some money over, but purely on each contract as it is now I don't think Crawford's is that much better than Soriano's. Crawford has more value than Soriano right this minute yes, but he's already 30 and is signed for the next six years at more money each year (I think) than any one of Soriano's. I could see the argument that it's better to push back the awful years that are inevitable for both players, but the risk is that there will be more (both in terms of cost and length) for Crawford. Crawford had one bad year and he's played his whole career in the AL East. Get him over to the National League and he probably becomes a better player. Plus he brings speed that the Cubs have lacked these past few years.
