  1. The name Al Yellon takes me way back. Holy [expletive]. I knew he ran that blog but I rarely read it. Smart man.
  2. Are they really going to let the Cubs announce this tomorrow? I doubt it. Ricketts was introduced as the chairman of the Cubs on October 31, 2009. Same day as Game 3 of the World Series. Jesus Christ a game 3 was on Halloween one year? That's just sad.
  3. Nobody gives a rats a** about this World Series.
  4.  Really? I highly doubt he thinks this.
  5. Doubt it. Probably Vitters and a lesser prospect. And letting Vitters go isn't that big of a deal.
  6. Why is anyone bothering watching this? Just obvious pain coming. The Cardinals aren't losing. It's a way of life.
  7. http://muskat.mlblogs.com/2011/10/20/1019-mcnutt-i-thought-it-was-a-joke/
  8. Back to White Sox Interactive you go.
  9. Theo Epstein deal with Cubs might not be done until next week http://www.suntimes.com/sports/8310536-419/theo-epstein-deal-with-cubs-might-not-be-done-until-next-week.html
  10. This is probably the best game the Hawks have played yet and they still don't look as good as they can be. This is a scary team.
  11. Theo as the president is basically doing the same thing he would be doing as general manager except he'd more than likely have the final say on things which is a good thing. If we can find a way to bring in Jed Hoyer as general manager, we have one of the best front offices in baseball.
  12. Revenge. Keith makes it 3-2. Whoops guess it was Mayers
  13. Toews! 2-1 Hawks
  14. Rosenthal: http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/theo-epstein-will-join-chicago-cubs-but-may-not-serve-as-general-manager-101811
  15. Oh my God David Haugh's article on Theo and the Cubs is just God awful: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/ct-spt-1019-haugh-epstein-cubs-chicago--20111019,0,6747496.column
  16. Think he's the back-up option if the Theo talks break off. Or maybe if Theo becomes president, we insert him as GM and have a double-headed monster.

  18. And nobody here except the idiots think Theo is a guaranteed title. But Theo is a HUGE upgrade over our previous general manager and the Cubs finally look like they're headed in the right direction so this is something to get excited about. Stop being a buzzkill.
  19. Another thing about Hoyer, won't the Padres be looking for compensation as well since his contract doesn't expire for awhile. So we'd have to go through this same process again for a guy who aren't even using as our general manager. I just don't see it happening. The only way Hoyer comes here is if the Theo talks fall through. Then Hoyer becomes our general manager.
  20. This has probably been mentioned but there is no way Jed Hoyer is leaving San Diego and taking a job demotion here. Hoyer is more than likely Ricketts' back-up option should these Theo talks break off. Josh Byrnes is probably a lock to come here though,
  21. The fact that the Cubs have a weak minor league system is probably one of the reasons why we hired Theo. Just a thought.
  22. Pedro Gomez was in Chicago late last week expecting to cover the presser so I doubt that means anything. Probably in Chicago just in case. Sahadev Sharma of ESPN Chicago said this: http://twitter.com/#!/sahadevsharma/status/126316935427260416
  23. If the Red Sox get anything more than a mediocre A-ball pitcher, they should be happy. Minor leaguers are valued way more now than they were valued in 1994.
