    Some of you guys have lost some serious perspective in your hatred for the Cardinals. Let's see if Theo can build a winner here at northside. Then lets see if he gets us to the postseason. Epstein has done a fine job with the extensive resources made available to him in Boston. But he didn't do it alone and he had a pretty impressive budget. The first thing Theo needs to do is get rid of some of the deadwood on this team.

    You're allowed to slide into someone, you're not allowed to reach to push/grab the defender. He took the kid out, nearly flipped him with the slide. What I saw was a defensive move to protect himself when the SS landed. I get that it was one of the hated Cardinals doing the deed, but there was no controversy on that slide.

    A few errors on the world stage vs a 3 run and a 2 run comeback, twice down to the last strike. Yeah, that was really bad baseball. :-"

    Byrd, Silva, Marmol, Soriano. Thats 4 what do I win? Nothing. Failure to follow simple instructions... Name one. Of your list, Soriano is overpaid and struggled so much last year, I don't think he could step up and lead.... Silva and Byrd aren't real veterans of this club. I also dunno if they are leaders.... Marmol is in the pen and not likely in much of a position to lead.

    The last thing this team needs to do is concentrate on is hazing the young talent. If someone is angry with Ramirez because he won't let Castro be abused then consider what he might be protecting the kid from... There are going to be very unhappy players on the team. Some are going to be unhappy with the way Ramirez parts his hair, since he's hitting well below Mendoza. I figure, if Lou thinks there's a real problem, he'd take action. I have no idea why Ramirez is getting the no work tag, but since he's injured, there might be a very good reason. I'm guessing that Ramirez is pretty close to finished. Both he and Z can't be weighing in too heavily on control of the team.... Neither one is even close to earning their salaries. Of course, Zambrano could just pound anyone into submission if they don't like him calling the shots... :wink: Hey, it's time to clean house in Chicago. Build this team around some young players. See if anyone wants to take Lee, Soriano, Ramirez, Zambrano and some of their contracts.... This team is a mess and it isn't gonna get fixed any time soon. Of course there are problems in the clubhouse. Name one veteran player who is playing well enough to lead.

    Can't be sure what he'll look like his first outing in the majors, but he pitched a one hitter (7 innings) in Memphis this year. He's a first round draft choice with a live arm. Wasn't sure where the ball was going for a couple years but seems to have tamed his mechanics and improved control a lot. He could be great or awful being baptized under fire in Wrigley. The other two guys have been here before.
