  1. Amaya a clean 4/4 on the day with a solid single into CF. Unfortunately 2B makes a sparkling play and flip to the SS for a double play on Almora.
  2. Rivera just had an incredible play to pick up a bunt on the 3B line and throw from the ground to nab the runner at 1st. It was risky, but it was fantastic to watch.
  3. Almora just scalded a ball to right center that the RF made a lunging reach for and collided with the CF and the ball fell out. Albert was running hard ll the way and ended up at 3B. He almost went for the HR and slammed on the brakes rounding 3rd. Vogelbach followed up with a nice single to score.
  4. Taylor Scott pitching in Kane County. It was TBD here in KC. JCP would be on normal rest IIRC, but I haven't heard anything about if he will be pitching today or not. Edit: Kane County obviously (not Peoria)
  5. I wonder if it would be due to a trade of Valbuena with Garza. McLeod did talk about how close Lake is to being ready. Maybe a trade of Valbuena leads to Lake starting at 3B.
  6. We would lose the bonus percentage off their slot amounts however and don't get to use the money slotted to them to sign Bryant. I'm hoping we have everything figured out and Bryant is taking some time off like ABTY mentioned at PSD.
  7. Great call, thanks! Like everyone I'm excited to see Pierce's work in the FSL.
  8. Pierce Johnson promoted to Daytona per KC Cougars Twitter account http://http://fb.me/36wz09FrR
  9. Dan Vogelbach, Tayler Scott, and Rock Shoulders off the top of my head. Pena is a hard throwing RHP that can get a little erratic and Nathan Dorris (LHP) is there as well. Outside of Cubs, Byron Buxton (OF), Carlos Correa (SS), and lance McCullers (RHP) will also be there and are top prospects.
  10. Callis did say he was most likely out of picks outside of Z to make it as a starter. Exciting to see some more signings announced officially!
  11. Just the cost. I would have been shocked had he not signed.
  12. Skulina signs for 800K per Jim Callis on twitter (on phone currently). That's about 325K overslot. Color me surprised.
  13. Oh yes. Unfortunately it really was. 4 walks and a HBP. No real hard hits, but was 89-92 during the inning. There was an error that should have helped him out, but it was already a rough inning. On a lighter note, Almora laced a ball up the middle.
  14. The first for Maples was every bit as rough as the box score will read. Labored through his 2/3 of an inning. 4R. And leaves with bases loaded. Walks, HBP. Not hit hard, but control is an issue (as advertised). Contreras had a lazer to 2nd to nab a runner though.
  15. I believe this is the answer you're looking for! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riNIjE-J4NQ
  16. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/breaking/chi-titus-young-brain-disorder-20130514,0,6977927.story seroquel has an antipsychotic component as well. Yeah seroquel is an antipsychotic and used for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. It is used (usually) in combo with an antidepressant for cases of severe depression (Major Depressive Disorder-MDD). It definitely isn't used for a routine case of depression.
  17. I'm intrigued about that pick at #34. With the Royals in contention (early as it is), they could be an interesting trade partner. A package of a pitcher and DJD might be enticing on their end.
  18. These errors have been every bit as bad in person as I can imagine they were to watch on TV. Other than this inning, Jackson has had decent command and was doing quite well.
  19. Haven't posted in awhile: busy with the Residency. Excited to see TTF mock the first 108 picks. Loading up on Pitching in this Mock with a pick at Catcher that looks intriguing. http://throughthefencebaseball.com/2013-mlb-draft-4/30877/ #2 Appel #41 Andrew Mitchell, RHP, TCU #77 Chris Oakley, RHP, St. Augustine Prep (NJ) #108 Stuart Turner C-Ole Miss
  20. I wonder with Johnson's history with long-tossing programs and the possible availability of a few noted long-tossers in Bauer and Lincecum that we may try to acquire either this off-season. IIRC, someone posted the Diamondbacks were frustrated with Bauer for some reason and I know we've talked a bit about the Giants possibly putting Lincecum on the block. Obviously Johnson's here for one main reason, but I do wonder if having more of an in house expert may give us more of an advantage or desire to try. Granted dozens of other teams may be looking at one or both, just spit balling.
  21. It's ABTY. He has some good contacts within the Royals organization. It'll be interesting to see what happens this offseason/next year.
  22. I think he would be horrible at it I trust Theo and Co. to build the organizational structure. He is a solid executive in an MLB front office and his strength is player analysis. He's not an architect. I'm sure he'd make some suggestions, but he can't just draw up a ballpark. I do however trust him to find the right person for the job and I'm interested to see what happens during the process.
  23. Hey guys. Stuck up in WI at work. Any chance I could snag a PM with a link? Thanks!
