  1. Bonifacio .500. Last year Castillo led all qualifiers with a .347 BABIP. The Cubs as a team were dead last in BABIP in 2013 Thanks. An interesting stat. Soooo...will Edwin return after the delay? And if not, who?
  2. School me: What exactly is BABIP? batting average on balls in play So it basically means that he does not pop up too frequently...right? he either has an obscene LD% (line drive percentage) or he's really lucky Thanks...curious: which Cub has the best BABIT? (my guess would be Riz)

  6. No action on this game....Wainwright is just too tuff early in the season and he has 2 no decisions so far in well pitched games. Gotta get to the pen after he reaches his limit. Milwaukee 8 2 .800 - W 7 Pittsburgh 6 4 .600 2 L 1 St. Louis 5 5 .500 3 L 2 Chi. Cubs 4 6 .400 4 W 1 Cincinnati 3 7 .300 5 ? I know it's early, but the Brews are on fire. Seven strait. Cincy scuffling, still losing those one run games. Go Cubbies.
  7. I must warn you that sarcasm is my second language.
  8. Really? I know the Reds lost a couple of key players, but that staff is still elite, and the Pirates got better. Don't forget your Central Div. leading Brewers! It looks to me that the Cubs are actually a solid ball club, and if in ANY other division would be a serious contender. How did the Pirates get better? And the Reds staff is elite? The Bucs got better the same way they did for the last 2 years, gelling as a team. And yes, I think the Reds have a top 5 NL staff, maybe better. If they don't lose Arroyo, it would be the best. So far this season they have lost a bunch of 1 run games, just like the Cubs. But anyway, the "gelling as a team" thing is pure silliness. And even if that were a thing, the Pirates lost their best starting pitcher from last year. Pure silliness? If you don't believe that teams after years of playing together improve then, well, I'm speechless. And don't forget: St. Louis lost Carpenter last year and didn't miss a beat. (In spite of a not too sharp rookie manager) And I can't help adding that the year after JORDAN "retired" the Bulls had a better record at the Allstar break than in the previous championship season!

It looks to me that the Cubs are actually a solid ball club, and if in ANY other division would be a serious contender. If only the Cubs could play in the pathetic AL East... LOL...yeah, I thought about excluding AL East, but I'm not so sure about them this year, as opposed to recent seasons. [-(

  14. Thanks Omar. Looks like about 2 games a week. I assume that South Siders have the other 5 #-o
  15. Flipping channels and the Cubs are on WGN?! They have been showing so few games lately I assumed there was no coverage today. (since there WAS yesterday) Maybe it's lucky for me as the Cubbies are behind. (no wager) But tell me: Is WGN going to carry games like they used to?
  16. Good night fellas....going to the bar....this game is toast! :yahoo:
