  1. Might as well have swung...couldn't have gone any worse
  2. Nope, on stubhub after the commission and fees, its under face value. What is the proper forum on this site for selling tickets?
  3. If so, I have 4 great seats 3 rows behind the Cubs bullpen for sale to this Saturday's Cubs/Cards game and PM if interested. If not, I apologize and will not post any more listings again!
  4. A team can rebuild without sucking this badly for 3 years in a row. As far as improvement next year, yeah I mean every season we think next year has to be better. At this rate, it isn't getting there. And given the ongoing delays with the renovations at Wrigley I think that timeline for attempting to be competitive is just being pushed back further and further. Like I said in my previous post, for whatever reason, I was fine with it the last two seasons. There was some crap we had to do to get this organization going in the right direction. But to almost feel like we suck even worse now than we did then is just not acceptable. Just wait to see how bad they'll suck this year when they trade Samardzija and Hammel.
  5. He's a first baseman? Exactly. If the NL had the DH I'm sure there'd be some talk of going after him, but we got Rizzo. And I personally think Rizzo > Abreu. If the NL had the DH and the Cubs went after him, I'm sure all the media reports would say the Cubs were prepared to out spend all teams but end up getting out spent by the Sox by $20 million.
  6. Not true. If you zoom in enough and know your suburban geography, you'll see they basically show I-88/290 as the dividing line between fandoms, with the exception being The Naperville/Lisle/Woodridge/Bolingbrook areas shown as predominantly Cubs fans. This makes more sense as there are not more Sox fans in the Chicago area than Cubs fans.
  7. Maybe we're just not allowed to win a series
  8. Well, it sure would be nice to turn on the Cubs game since I live in the Chicago area. But, thanks to WOW, I have not been able to since CSN switched to Bulls coverage and WOW doesnt carry CSN+! :banghead:
  9. Anyone else think he's on some kind of PEDs? He never hit more than 8 HRs in any year in the minors, seems to have a short temper and look who is his teammate.
  10. I'm having surprisingly good luck selling them thus far. Are you using stubhub or something else? David - where have you been selling yours? StubHub Didn't know if there was somewhere better than stubhub. Had a midweek game a couple of weeks ago that didn't sell and had trouble last year too. I have good seats (aisle 4 - behind Cubs bullpen), so price is generally higher than most, even when under face value.

  12. Accumulating utility infielders and 4th OFers must be the new market inefficiency.
  13. CAstillo!!!! And [expletive] you Renteria and your bunting!
  14. Misery loves company. Renteria is insufferable already. What did Theo see in this guy? I MISS SVEUM He was the 3rd choice after Girardi and Lovullo
  15. Wasn't Veras a decent closer for Houston last year?
  16. Time for mop up duty for Veras until he can get his control back.
  17. Can we have a decent bullpen for once??? Can't trust Veras, Wright, Russell, and Schlitter. Too much bad.
  18. I remember missing on Cespedes was about years, not money. But, was missing on both Ryu and Tanaka really due to lack of financial support or the FO's decision to not exceed their respective values?
  19. Why are they even still talking to WGN? Can they even compete dollar-wise with Fox?
  20. A little off topic here, but was playing one season in U.S. Cellular Field ever considered an option? Is it even possible? I, for one, would be in favor of it, if it meant getting the renovations done sooner. There could be scheduling problems, but 95% of the time, both the Cubs and Sox aren't in town at the same time anyways. I'd imagine business owners in Wrigleyville wouldn't be in favor of it.
  21. I know it will be a lost season, but lets not make it worse by letting the bullpen blow every save in games we're actually winning. And I wouldnt expect them to throw gobs of money to sign someone. Is there any FA that could be signed for a one year deal? Balfour, Rodney, Benoit, or Veras? I would rather start with a known than watch them play musical chairs with the closer role.
