  1. Josh [expletive] Byrnes. [expletive] that.
  2. Carrie Muskat of MLB.com writes that Cubs first baseman Carlos Pena is "not going anywhere." Pena was claimed off waivers by the Yankees on Wednesday, but the Cubs refused to trade the slugger at last month's non-waiver deadline and don't seem inclined to part with him here in August. The reasons: half of Pena's $10 million salary for this season has been deferred to 2012, and the Cubs are still hoping to re-sign him as a free agent this winter. Pena, 33, has 23 homers and 67 RBI through 124 games with Chicago. Related: Yankees
  3. Cashman saying deal not likely. Everyone can breathe easy again. Carlos will ride it out in blue for the remainder of the season.
  4. If it is a retread Ricketts will immediately smell like doo doo.
  5. Ooooooooooooooooooooooh. I like it. I like it a lot.
  6. Hmm. That was pretty bad. I guess he just felt the sudden urge to stroll. I am sure he is being spoken to about last night, and I am sure it is just another feather in his learning development cap.
  7. He is only a few miles from me. I am going to go talk to him. Lay it out for him to play it out.
  8. Oh dear lord. This is about to get amusing. Maybe.
  9. Mmm. Not the biggest fan of Byrnes being on the list. My list. 1. Friedman 2. Cashman 3. Cherington 4. Thad Levine
  10. Oh, and...Crane Kenney...non-story. Why is it that this organization always has to have these [expletive] boogymen lurking in the shadows holding them back all the [expletive] time??? Drop this horseshit and lets get back to celebrating! Ricketts has done nothing but rock da house, and I can't see him playing Captain Clunker at the moment. Bitch when it is warranted, but don't bitch at shadows.
  11. As long as isn't Ned Colletti, I think we are going to be okay.
  12. Maybe!? The excitement is here! Bask in it! Roll around in it! Take it out for dinner, and the chances are damn near 100% you are getting lucky. God damn it feels good to be a Cubs fan right now.
  13. I think it is going to be pretty hard to know what we are getting unless we are sitting in the interview room during the hiring process. I just have renewed hope in this organization now. I am going to go with that hope, and rest assured that the right man for the job is only days away from leading the Cubs to greatness.
  14. Can someone please explain to me why Hahn is so highly thought of? I am probably putting too much emphasis on the organization he works for, but where is the body of evidence suggesting he is a top candidate? A - What does this mean? Please tell me it's not, "He probably Sox because he works for the Sox and I hate them and Ozzie is dumb lol!" B - http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/candidates-for-the-chicago-general-manager-job/ A. I don't see anything to really go bouncing up and down about concerning the White Sox organization. This includes both the minor leagues and the major league roster. Hyping the acquisitions of Quentin and Ramirez aren't exactly making me all weak in the knees either. I am glad that he likes the Cubs, but I don't believe any bearing at all should be placed on his penchant to root for a certain team. I don't know, maybe I am missing something about the White Sox organization that others are aware of.

  16. I wonder how much input Rick Hahn has because the quality of the White Sox system is rather blah.
  17. I really hope Hendry makes a stop as a guest "analyst" on MLB Network before coming across another gig. I want to hear his hard hitting analysis.
  18. As far as current heads of state go, only Friedman and Cashman interest me. It is doubtful we get either, so I am pulling for a newbie with nice credentials. I don't really know much about those guys, but the assistant in Boston and Texas look interesting on the surface.
  19. I have absolutely no interest in Grady Sizemore. He is banged up, and continues to be banged up. Lets not go for the hobbled.
  20. http://4gifs.com/gallery/d/132490-1/Preggo_spin.gif
  21. No, of course I'm not expecting a contract like that. If we want Pujols or Fielder of course we'll have to pay top dollar. But I don't want to pay top dollar for a guy who doesn't deserve it, and have the contract be an albatross like Soriano's is now. Well, rest easy my friend because that won't be happening anymore. I mean, not until we win the grand taco beef prize.
  22. Well, I [expletive] LOVE TODAY!!!! My throat is already hoarse. If I drank, I would be swimming in blissful drunk stink. I am going to get naked and run through the rain!!! GO RICKETTS GO!!!
  23. Oh wow. I didn't realize how well Jackson has been performing since being promoted to AAA.
  24. Gosh guys. Am I the only want that wants Hendry to stay?
  25. Maybe we should try to trade the Marlins for LoMo. You think Hendry could swing that? Yeah, neither do I...
