  1. Because Kansas is probably equal to Tennessee this year without those guys? And Tennesse is going to lose their whole damn team next year? (minus Hopson) :-)) Riiiiight. I'm shocked that your hatred of Pearl has blinded you this badly. Wait.... no I'm not.
  2. What? No. Wrong. I think losing 3 starters is a great way to go from 6 seed to title contender. Well, when you bring in two of the Top 6 players in the country, as well as 2 other Top 50 guys and a solid transfer, it is. And if Kansas loses Collins, Aldrich, and Henry, how do you think they're a more legit title contender again?
  3. What? No. Wrong.
  4. I was behind the bench that Saturday and heard Pearl tell assistant Tony Jones "I really wanna get Steve's (Bruce's son) picture in SI this week, so let's play him more than we should. Also, that skinny white walkon (Jones interrupts with "McBee?"), let's let him play some too. I want to keep this one close." Otherwise, it would have been at least a 30 point game. True story. In all honesty, I do think Selby chooses UT, but KU would not surprise me in the least. If he wants a shot at a title in his one and done college career, I think UT offers a better chance next season. I'm not saying that Tennessee is a better program, just that joining that class and that returning roster could give UT its best team in school history. They *could* have a similar team to this year's Kentucky team.
  5. Depends on whether or not they curbstomp Kansas with their 2nd team again, I guess.
  6. I think Josh Selby ends up at Tennessee, and if so the Vols begin 2010-11 in the Top 10. A class of Selby, Tobias Harris, McRae, and Golden is #2 or 3 in the country. PG- Selby, Goins SG- Tatum, McRae, Golden SF- Hopson, Woolridge PF- Harris, Maymon C- Williams, Hall
  7. Fair enough. I want the expansion to 15 minor leaguers, because it gives us a 40 man roster. Again, I like as many parallels as possible.
  8. After talking with a couple of guys on chat, I wonder how interested some of you might be in moving toward something that resembles more of a dynasty league? My thought is that we could expand our Minor League rosters to 15 players, and that we could up our keeper limits to 18 major leaguers and 5000 or so points (or not worry about points at all) and maybe even limit our minor league keepers as well. Shrink the draft to 10 rounds, and we've got something going. Heck, we could even expand the league to 20 teams for that matter. What do you guys think about this potential move to more of a dynasty type of feel?
  9. Billy is all that remains.
  10. Everyone is legal.
  11. Sultans receive Hosak's 1st in 2011.
  12. Cubbiebummin receives Janzen's Black n Milds 6th rounder in 2011.
  13. Ozzie Guillen's Accent receives Hosak's 4th round pick in 2011.
  14. Cubbiebummin receive Black Labs 1st rounder next season.
  15. Hey Mooch... can you edit your original post to add the other 2 trades? That way, we don't have to sort through 2 or 3 pages next offseason, but can instead just look at the original post. I did that in the Salary Cap Points thread, and included this disclaimer, just so that people would know: (I will edit this post as new trades are added by owners. This original post will be considered official.) I think that just helps us have less to sort through next January.
  16. Somehow, the internet acronym "STFU" just seems to capture the moment.
  17. Cubbiebummin receives 300 points from Rapture. Young Guns receives 300 points from Roady. Soxaholics receives 300 points from Stevo. Cubbiebummin receives 100 points from TBCS. Rapture receives 324 points from Hosak. Stevo receives 275 points from Hosak. TBCS receives 209.8 points from Cubbiebummin. Cubbiebummin receives 11 points from Rapture. Hosak receives 110.9 points from Sultans. Kingsport receives 50 points from Hosak. Hosak receives 185 points from Pickle Surprise. Cubbiebummin receives 5 points from SoCal. MM receives 26 points from Young Guns. Pickle Surprise receives 212 points from Young Guns. Hosak receives 25 points from Rapture. Hosak receives 130 points from Czar Nikita. Rapture receives 290 points from Soxaholics. MM receives 136.8 points from Soxaholics. (I will edit this post as new trades are added by owners. This original post will be considered official.)
  18. How is getting the #20 pick a steal...I would rather keep Lackey.... I think he was being sarcastic. With Eric's trade offers, I never know :D You've officially lost the right to say this.
  19. I wanted Markakis but Lackey is not a bad alternative... In case you were wondering, you and I are now arch rivals. I really, really wanted Lackey, and thought for sure he'd fall to my next pick. You can always make a trade offer :D Okay! I'll trade you my next pick (#20) for him. That's a steal, if you ask me.
  20. I wanted Markakis but Lackey is not a bad alternative... In case you were wondering, you and I are now arch rivals. I really, really wanted Lackey, and thought for sure he'd fall to my next pick.
  21. Well Soto is one of the best catchers, Jeter is one of the best short stops, Manny is one of the best batters period and DLee is a very good 1B. I then have a very promising 2B in Cabrera and Jay Bruce is a high potential player. Like you said I have pitching done so I will fill all my other batting positions and with a 2nd rd pick, two 3rd rders and two 4th rders I am confident my batting will be top 5 at the least. As far as my pitching I love it. I got proven vets who aren't over 30 and thus shouldn't break down pared with young guys who are known for power pitching and loads of potential. I would think I should run away with the SO stat. Which would matter, if this were Roto. ;) Out of curiosity, what do you reasonably expect to get in the 3rd and 4th rounds? Not having picks there, it's not like I'm going to steal guys you want, and I'm not even necessarily asking specifically who you want, but who do you think is a reasonable 3rd or 4th rounder who really will help much? Are you thinking something like Cuddyer or Swisher, or do you think you're gonna have to go down to the guys like Willingham or Hermida at that point?
  22. I agree that it was a better deal for Levin than it was for Matt, but I think it was somewhat even. I'd give the nod to Levin though, as going from Quentin to Lee is certainly an upgrade. And I'm not saying you shouldn't feel good about your team, but your offense is just not very intimidating. But, your pitching, on the other hand, has the potential to be scary good. If you stay healthy, I think you've definitely gotten a bit better this year from last.
  23. This draft is much better than last year's. If I'm not mistaken, Ubaldo Jiminez was the top pick last year, whereas ARod is likely to be this year. That's a significant difference. That tells me we have the right number of points and players for keepers.
