  1. 12. Penn State Minny will challenge you. But yeah, you're losing a lot. I'm thinking Purdue in the 3-5 range. Obviously worse if Hummel goes down again.
  2. Time to start the 2011-2012 thread? We can do rank the Big Ten for next year...
  3. lol
  4. Haha, Gary Parrish is reporting that a reporter asked Calipari at the presser today what it was like to coach in his first Final Four.
  5. Sounds to me like some pro wrestling "we were together all along" [expletive] going on here. Even brought in old man Keady to throw fans off the scent. Now they have all your money and there's not a thing you can do about it. ETA: Mizzou just got powerbombed through a table ETA: Now they're getting spray-painted ETA: Garbage filling up the ring. ETA: Gene Keady says suck it I feel for Mizzou fans. But yeah, if that was their aim, they've gotten to me. I know a lot of my alumni friends are pissed and will continue to be - but my friends are cheap anyway (like me) so it's not like they were going to donate to begin with, haha.
  6. Mizzou was just the leverage Painter needed to get everything he wanted from Purdue. A couple of hours ago I was convinced he was gone and I STILL think he was an inch away from leaving or maybe even decided to and had a last second change of heart. Hoepfully, after the short-term angst, Purdue's basketball program really benefits from this. If Painter can keep his assistants, and has more dough to recruit (and a new 8 year contract with NO GET OUT OF TOWN EARLY CLAUSE) he can hopefully keep the momentum going from his 2012 and 2013 classes. Hell, maybe he can even get us to a Final Four some day. edit: and yes, I've been guilted into joining the John Purdue Club
  7. ESPN (Andy Katz) finally reporting this as a done deal - staying at Purdue. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=6274057 I'm still not convinced.
  8. Now I'm hearing Painter still isn't decided. Mizzou's deadline has come and gone so I guess that doesn't matter. He needs to make up his damn mind.
  9. It's going to be weird cheering for Tennessee basketball.
  10. You do realize his 2013 class is going to rival the 2007 class right? The 2012 class is nothing to sneeze at either. Really, he struggled recruiting 2008 and 2009. LewJack, Byrd, Smith, and Barlow are useful role players but that's about it maybe with the exception of LewJack who could be the #2 scorer next year. Bade is garbage, Hart doesn't do much for me and the jury is out on Marcius. 2010 he had two 4 stars and Carroll (a serviceable role player) - 2011 brings two athletic 6' 7" - 6' 8" forwards that Purdue is desperately in need of. He's had a peak of four 4 star players on the available roster. In 2013 he'll have 7 available to him and maybe 8 depending on what happens with the remaining 2013 scholarship (obviously that's if he stays). That's counting Lawson as a 3 star - I think some services have him as a 4 (and I think Hale is underrated). He's recruiting just fine now.
  11. Painter couldn't get past the Sweet Sixteen (or even to the Sweet Sixteen this year) with some of the best talent in Purdue history. If you could promise me that we would keep our upcoming recruits (2013 especially) I would say let him walk. Sadly it doesn't work that way. I think Mizzou is greatly overpaying because they're desperate and embarassed. I guess they have that luxury. If Purdue comes out of this with a Danny Hope caliber coach I'm going to be livid. They're dropping $100M on Mackey renovations. If they (the administration) don't cough up some coin for someone legit (I would be fine getting Painter back) then they should all be fired.
  12. Painter to Mizzou. I'm hearing it's a done deal 7 years @ 2M. I hope we don't lose all the recruits too.
  13. So the latest rumor is that Mizzou is offering Painter 2.2 to 2.8M per year if he comes over. Are you [expletive] serious? Some of the guys with 'insider' knowledge at the Purdue Rivals board are saying they believe Painter will take the money and run (it's a huge raise).
  14. Really? Kentucky has 11 fouls while Ohio State has 5. Not when I posted that. Is there a single likable player on the entire Kentucky roster?
  15. Kentucky mauling Sullinger and getting away with it.
  16. Colton Iverson apparently transferring from Minny. The wheels are coming off that program fast. Rumors about Painter to Mizzou haven't died...
  17. I don't buy Painter leaving his Alma mater for Mizzou. No offense Mizzou guys. Paul Lusk did just withdraw his name from the NIU job so maybe... but I don't buy it. I haven't seen anything on the Purdue Rivals boards either - where I'm sure panic would be ensuing. As an Illinois fan who hates you both, :D I would be shocked if there was any truth to that. Doesn't make much sense at all. Cuonzo Martin on the other hand is looking to move up... He's done a nice job...

  19. Same for Purdue. They couldn't handle anything that VCU threw at them and matched up poorly based on size and strength. Good thing there aren't many Butler fans around to talk trash about owning Indiana right now.
  20. Ah, one of those guys. What? lol. Yes I know it is shocking that fan of a rival would take joy in the rival's demise. It totally doesn't happen anywhere else. :good: Pretty lame come tournament time. I've been pulling for all the Big Ten schools. So if Indiana were in the NCAA tournament right now you would be cheering for them to win? And if you type "yes" you have to do so with a straight face. As long as you weren't playing Purdue. It's not easy, but I've been cheering for everyone else. Heck, even teams that have beat us the last few years.
  21. It's funny until you realize the team that just got violated by VCU swept the Hoosiers. No actually it is still just as funny to me. Ah, one of those guys. What? lol. 22. Yep, I think they will end up meeting Texas in the Championship Game. :banghead: :stickman: It's funny until you realize the team that just got violated by VCU swept the Hoosiers. No actually it is still just as funny to me. Ah, one of those guys.
  23. I'm not even sure they'd be favored in their next game. Seriously? The right side of the bracket is shredded. I think whoever wins this game is going to the Championship game. The winner of this game isn't going to face a single digit seed again until the FINAL FOUR.
  24. If Illinois can get by Kansas they've got a realistic shot at the Championship game.
