  1. Newspaper article about the video: http://www.oakpark.com/News/Articles/10-14-2016/Oak-Park-school-kids-jump-on-Cubs-bandwagon/?utm_source=RSS&amp%3Butm_medium=RSS&amp%3Butm_campaign=RSS
  2. Went to the MLBShop website to buy some more gear. I wanted a Cubs jacket since I plan on going to many more games next year, including one or two in April. Decided to go for the 3 in 1 Cubs jacket (which can be used as a winter coat or a lighter jacket) in case any of the early April games are cold - after all, it did snow in mid-April two years ago! Also got a 2016 World Series program as a souvenir, and a Cubs Win flag to bring to the games next year.
  3. Made my pilgrimage to Wrigley Field today! Bought two posters from vendors around Wrigley Field, and bought a World Series championship pennant. Atmosphere was great, and they still had "World Series Champions" on the Wrigley Field marquee.
  4. Saw Kris Bryant (and his Maserati) and Anthony Rizzo over at Wrigley Field today! Apparently, some of the Cubs players were cleaning out their lockers today, and as I walked around Wrigley Field to take in the atmosphere, there was a big crowd in front of the Chicago Fire Department facility on Waveland Ave. Bryant came out around 2:30 PM, and Rizzo came out around 15 minutes later! Everyone in the crowd went wild and started chanting "M-V-P" as Bryant came out of the building (and also out of the media area - he made two appearances). The security people said that the Cubs were filming some video inside Wrigley Field.
  5. Got an officially licensed blue World Series Champions Chicago Cubs t-shirt yesterday at Costco for $15. They also have blue World Series champion hoodies for $35. They aren't the locker room apparel, but I was happy to buy one. I'll be heading to Wrigleyville today to take some pictures and probably buy more Cubs merchandise. Go CUBS !! :flythew:
  6. No worries, I'm the same as well. I might get one World Series championship shirt, but I'm more interested in the memorabilia. I already got a nicely made NL Central pennant and an NLCS pennant for this year, and I hope to get a World Series championship pennant to hang on the wall. I also bought two nicely framed pictures (16" by 20") at my local Costco today - one had the team on Wrigley Field wearing the NL Championship t-shirts, and the other had photos of West Side Grounds in 1908 and Wrigley Field in 2016 (with the team logos from both years). One of the employees at Costco also said that there was a shipment of World Series t-shirts expected tomorrow or early next week, so if you don't want to pay $28 for one (and you live in the Chicago area), Costco will probably have them at a significantly cheaper price.
  7. I'm jumping, clapping, kneeling, and crying. This is awesome!!! Fireworks are going off in Oak Park for the second night in a row! For the final time in 2016, CUBS WIN !! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

  9. Greetings from beautiful Oak Park, IL !!! CUBS are 1-0 (1.000) in the month of November Go CUBS !!
  10. I'll either watch the game at a bar in Berwyn or Oak Park tonight or just stay at home. I'm working until about 5:30 pm today. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  11. If you are willing to go to Berwyn, Fitzgerald's is a great bar. I went there for Game 6 of the NLCS, and I had a lot of fun. They have a 14-foot outdoor HD projection screen, along with tables and bleachers! There is also a heated tent with a view of the screen. No cover charge, and there is reasonably priced food for purchase. The bar is on Roosevelt & East Ave, and is a 4-block walk from the Oak Park CTA Blue Line. Location: 6615 W Roosevelt Rd, Berwyn, IL Website: http://www.fitzgeraldsnightclub.com/ Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  12. Rejected. :(
  13. I bought an extra copy of the Chicago Tribune today. If anyone would like a copy, feel free to PM me. (claimed by cubscott34 via PM)
  14. Sometime between 2:51 PM on Sunday, October 23 and 7:08 PM on Friday, October 28.
  15. Is this the drawing that you were talking about? It's only for game 4. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/sweepstakes/y2016/mlb/vixlet/ I have not received a confirmation e-mail yet (positive or negative) for the World Series postseason opportunity, and I have for the NLDS and NLCS. I'm assuming that they haven't sent it out yet. Also, it's even more of a long shot (since there is only 1 winner), but there is a sweepstakes through MLB to win a prize package for four game 4 tickets, round trip airfare, and hotel accommodations. The link is earlier in the post.
  16. MLB is having a sweepstakes for Game 4 of the World Series (in Chicago). Only one winner for this one, but it includes 4 game tickets, round-trip airfare, and hotel accommodations! http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/sweepstakes/y2016/mlb/vixlet/
  17. Greetings from beautiful Oak Park, IL !!! I joined the board soon after I began following the Cubs back in 2008 (back in my junior year of college). Been mainly lurking on it, and enjoy reading the comments as I'm listening to the evening games on the radio or watching on television. Went to my first game in a while 2 weeks ago to watch Kyle Hendricks and Travis Wood get RBI's against the Giants. Loved it, and looking forward to attending more games soon! Go CUBS !!
  18. Same here. I've been mostly lurking here since 2009. My great-grandfather was born in 1906, two years before the Cubs won their last World Series. He died back in 2001, and was a huge Cubs fan. He introduced me to the Cubs, and I have been following them more closely ever since 2008.
  19. This is absolutely amazing. Remembering the Lou Piniella years when this team couldn't buy a postseason win, it's incredible to see the team go from 100 losses to National League Champions in 4 years. The crowd was pretty loud in Berwyn where I watched the game, but I'm sure Wrigleyville is jammed right now!
  20. Congrats on a great series. I fully expect to see the Dodgers in another playoff series in the near future.
  21. I'm interested. I just sent you a PM. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  22. I would be up for a meetup in Wrigleyville! I would be able to be there by 6:00 pm.
