  1. Noah is potentially gonna average 5+ assists for the year. The list of modern players who have averaged 5+ assists and 10+ rebounds has to be very, very short. I checked a bunch of guys who I thought would be candidates and only Barkley, Webber and Garnett. No centers that I found. I Checked passing centers like divac, arvidis, and brad miller and they hadn’t.
  2. Deadspin should leave guys like that alone.
  3. I think they are upset that rookies have been so bad that the draft is failing at bringing more parity to the league. The problem is that there are not quality upper classmen in the draft anymore to balance out the question mark 1 and Dones. Guys like marquis teague need to be given better advice. He was barely good in his one college season. Had he stayed two years and developed he probably would have developed enough to go 10-15 picks higher, doubled his rookie scale, and gotten a chance to get actual minutes. Instead he just might be done. Late first round picks have almost no value for teams and these guys need to realize that teams arent gonna give you that much rope getting picked in the 20s. Some of the guys who arent ready, fail and get flushed out of the draft could be good high lottery picks after their junior year.
  4. I doont know why you think the NBA draft tends to be predictable. Its hilariously unpredictable. How often in the NFL do teams learn that a top 5 pick flat out does not belong in the league? That happens beasically every draft in the NBA. If you look at the 2011 draft, picks 11-20 are better than 1-10. Once you get to pick 7 or 8 there is a 50% chance that the team wont end up picking up the 4th year option. Dont say "build through the draft". Say "happen to get a top pick in a year with a future superstar". If the 76ers have been in NBA hell what kind of NBA hell is cleveland in? They have a roster of lottery picks. Its just that so many guys that go in the top 10 end up being horrible pros.
  5. Ray Felton is just pathetic.
  6. I love that we are absolutely buttfucking this Knicks team. The knicks need to get Melo another max, amnesty amare and start over again. This team is awful together. This is proof that you cant just keep trying to get the next best available player. You need to put a group together that works.
  7. There might be a Love Provision or something that will allow us to add both guys.
  8. We officially have Jimmer. Jimmer a Bull now. I really do believe that in a good environment he will make a difference for an NBA team. This is a good place for him. With Dunleavy and Dj and now Jimmer, I think our 3pt shooting may enter "acceptable" territory whoch would be absolutely huge for this team. If Kirk can stay hot the rest of the year we could potentially have a decent offense. Really like the signing and hope he gets 10-15 minutes consistently so we can see what he can add.
  9. Whats the age limit now? They want more free marketing in college? Its just gonna make more guys try to Brandon Jennings. Thats bs. I hate the idea of that. The quality of the game is good. Look at Anthony Davis he is 3 years out of high school and hes a top frontcourt player in the NBA. Rose won an MVP 4 years out of HS.
  10. Interested to see Monta play tonight didnt catch the Mavs game earlier this year and havent seen much of him but it looks like hes having a solid season for dallas.
  11. Is this even looked at as a remote possibility? I think Taj is tremendous defensive player but I wouldn’t put a non-starter on the all-D team. Its not like Ibaka’s d is falling off to the point that they will give a 1st team D position to a non-start who doesn’t have great BLKs STLs or DREBs. The idea you wouldn’t sign a guy for fear that Taj makes all-D team is kinda absurd.
  12. People say that when it happened the game was in hand and he should have not been on the floor. It's bad logic and dumb but that's the argument. Rose's minutes are consistent with top players so you can't blame it on minutes. Deng led league in minutes one year so people use that to criticize thibs which is also dumb. Noah has PF and people that don't understand PF criticize thibs usage of Noah. Thibs is living proof that many people, no matter what, can never be happy with anything and this winter is going to be dark and cold and will last the rest of your life.
  13. Compare Noah's minutes to Duncan's minutes at similar ages.
  14. You could potentially say that Deng played 2-3 mpg more than under a different coach. You can't say that about any other player thibs has coached. Who has he overplayed? Noah is an all star center. If he isn't in foul trouble he Gould be on the floor like every other prime player. Rose played young superstar minutes. He plays guys the appropriate amount. The only reason butler had the heavy minute load when he did was because thibs literally had no other option.
  15. Very much disagree with that line of thinking.
  16. Maybe you dont trade it, id like to see it as a SC person but whatever. Seems like every GM tries to trade down. That said I would have zero questions personally on clowney. He was very productive. It really depended on who called the game; some games they would say "look how tired he is conditioning!" "Still waiting to call #7!!" and some games the TV crew would show replays of him blowing up half the line or him occupying three blockers on a play. It all depends if the TV crew calls attention to what he was doing.
  17. I watched every, non-coastal carolina or ecu, SC game for clowney's tenure and absolutely get it. Not that alshon, lattimore, melvin ingram and others havent looked good but Clowney is in another class. He was a beast last year also. They stuck a camera on him every play and every time he subbed out (obviously very common for d-lineman) they questioned his commitment. When you have a monster you gameplan for it and teams did so his stats were down and Kelcy quarles was a 1rst team all-american. He had some minor injuries so he sat out coastal carolina and kentucky two games when he was not needed. Clowney was a victim of the espn machine gearing up on him. Hes gonna be a beast and if cost the bears a swap and next years first and second they should do it.
  18. Because (i) it wont and (ii) whatever scrap they add for 13th man could be retained on a min to back up rose and kirk after they dont come to terms with DJ.
  19. Looking at jimmer's game log he has gotten VERY inconsistant minutes. He must never have been in the plans but when he plays he seems to play ok offensively. He had a big game at the Garden last he played. We could use some scoring. Go get it done Gar!
  20. Jimmer is a no-brainer. If they can get him and keep him at a min, they should be hanged if they dont.
  21. The Heat series in 2011 was kinda close. We should have won the OT game and then straight up blew game 5. If Rose had played even mediocre we win both games.
  22. Winning that playoff series last year was absolutely nuts. We won a road game 7 with a lineup of Nate, Jimmy, Pasta, Boozer and Noah; and Gibson and Teague being the only reserves. Nets had Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace, Brook Lopez, Reggie Evans, CJ Watson, Blache and kris Humphries. We played most of the series without Deng, Hinrich and Rip who would be 3 starters. Then that same lineup won game 1 at a full-strength Heat. Then got Joey Crawforded in game 3 and very nearly won game 5. Phil Jackson wins 30 games with that roster.
  23. I love watching this team. I absolutely want to somehow get the pacers in round 2. That would be a fun series and I absolutely think the bulls could hang.
  24. Thibs has to be if not the best coach one of the best coaches in any sport. Thompson, curry, bogut, lee, speights, Crawford, iguodala. That lineup has so much more talent than this bulls team it's not even close. Thibs would win 60 games in the west with that team. Instead they have Marc Jackson's clueless clownass.
  25. Ill conceived prop bets aside great game. I'm not sure how much was GSW being flat as hell as their coach an idiot or the bulls playing well. Either was two wins in a back to back with scoring on both nights is pretty nice. Hinrich and taj were great and boozer and Noah played really well also. Stephen curry was absolutely zipped up. Is he hurt or something. I don't think I've ever seen a player of his calibre be that much of a non factor.
