  1. Ya ok dude i was only 2 when that happened but my guess is that 190lbs Rodman from the late 80s would have had some problems with prime Shaq in the low block.
  2. You can make an win share argument over a ton of guys in the Hall as well. And as for short peaks Ralph Sampson was recently inducted.
  3. I think if you understood it that well, you would have used Rodman to make your case about Wallace in the first place. Oh but as a Chicagoan and bulls fan I was actually able to remember Dennis Rodman as well.
  4. Rodman was a better rebounder but Wallace was a better man and team defender. Rodman was a great defender obviously as well. But offensively neither was good. Which is not really important because NBA teams do not use 5 guys on offensive possessions. Anchoring an elite defense makes you much more valuable than being able to contribute offensively.
  5. What decade was this? He had a stretch where he won 4 out of 5 DPOYs From 2001-2006. Assumign he was still prettty good at defense a year or two before and after you get to about ten years.
  6. He came into the league undrafted and didnt play for a few years. When he got to the pistons he established himself as an elite rebounder and shotblockers and the best defensive player in that era, and among the best of all time. With 4 DPOY awards and a handfull of all-nba teams, he very well might get into the hall. Noah is a great player, but not on Wallace's level. You guys probably were not watching basketball during his prime. He guarded multiple positions and averaged something like 3block/2stl a game. He was universally considered the best defensive player in the game for like a decade.
  7. No, he will not Also, no I dont know what to say other than you guys are wrong.
  8. I should have said "possible" because he is certainly going to get consideration. Basketball Reference probably uses some offensive stat based weighted system to get there "probable HOF" and means absolutelty nothing. And this started with somebody being pissed about drafting "a young Ben Wallace" and me noting Wallace was a far better player than Noah. As for the HOF, there is some space between Noah and the HOF i think.
  9. Hold on you thought you were getting a younger Ben Wallace and you were unhappy? Noah is great but hes nowhere near Ben Wallace, a probable hall of famer and one of the best defenders in the history of the game. Noah not quite Ben Wallace at all./
  10. While Noah ended up better, we coulda done a lot worse than Hawes who has ended being a really good player in his own right. If he was in an environment like the Bulls this whole time, he could be even better. Aside from Durant, Horford, Noah and Afflalo; hes arguably the next best guy (with Gasol and Conley Jr). We dodged a bullet with Yi going #6. Hes the guy I wanted most and, almost certaily, we would have taken him at #9 if available. (then again maybe he would have developed into an all-star)
  11. I was happy with Noah at the time. He was supposed to go 1-3 in the prior draft had he come out. I was happy with the Tyrus Thomas trade because I though Vic Kryapa was gonna be good. He had some big games in Portland and I thought he was gonna be a legit 4. Tyrus was the only athlete of the Paxson era.
  12. The potential number one pick in the most overrated draft class of all time got off 6 shots in a loss.
  13. What's nerd up mean? Somebody ask him if the "financial restrictions" are stayin within the MLB 8x cash flow leverage from his article? Because that's pretty much a financial restriction for every business everywhere.
  14. At the Bulls game and they brought out every chicago mascot for Benny's birthday. Clark got viciously booed. Deafening boos.
  15. They had an 11-3 run over 10 minutes. UD Cuse also grinding one out
  16. Regarding the "financial restrictions" do you people believe that Ricketts has imposed these because 1) he doesn't have any money or 2) the cubs (and wrigley) as a business are unable to generate enough cash flow to improve the stadium and spend on the big league team? And regarding the thing about 13 previously bad teams making a jump to the playoffs since 2007: how many previously good teams made the playoffs and how many previously bad teams state bad.
  17. Are there people who think these games are watchable? I tried to watch Pitt Florida and now Slu Louisville. This is absolutely brutal, terrible basketball.
  18. Wow. Not gonna read the article. Read a few sentences of the grant land article. I guess if this group of owner and front office are competent, than what would we look like now 5 years in with an incompetent group.
  19. What makes anybody think Phil is even capable of succeeding in this position working fulltime in NY? The ego is just insane. Running the Knicks from LA? If they pay him $13mln they are out of their minds. Hes never been known as a good talent evaluator.
  20. Don't think anybody is saying he can't or won't get a few votes, but that he shouldn't. Only two guys should be getting votes for MVP. But the voters have to vote or 5. I think there is a solid argument or him to get 5th place votes.
  21. My point was that ruling a guy out on the basis of PER doesn't work because PER doesn't always work. And I'm not arguing that Noah should be considered for MVP. But ruling him out as somebody who couldn't get a few 3rd place votes and finish in the middle of the top 10 simply because is not a scorer is not fair. The fact that he, as we discussed, is putting up historically high assist numbers for a big, leads the break with his handles and has developed a fair scoring game makes him a valuable offensive player. That combined with his elite defense and rebounding makes him as attractive an MVP candidate as Tony Parker ever was. It's arguable that Tony Parker has ever been top 5 at his position and you could argue that Noah is currently the best 5 in the NBA. Parker was a candidate because his team wins so many games and the voters feel the need to credit a player. I think te same is true for Noah. He is clearly the best player on a team that is gonna win 15-20 games more than anybody thought they had a right to with this roster. Credit Thibs all you want, I do too, but somebody on the floor needs to get the job done and Noah is doing that.
  22. Yea, Vogel has a great argument. Hornicek and Dwayne Casey also probably will get more votes. Id say Hornicek should win the award. That team came out of nowhere.
  23. Should Andray Blache and Brook Lopez be a part of the discussion? Noah could easily be 5th in MVP voting. Tony Parker has gotten that a couple times and nobody was outraged. Noah is a top defensve player with a great rebounding rate and a fantastic assist ratio. Hes clearly the leader and best player on a good team. His lack of scoring obviously prevents him from being a real MVP candidate but hes a legit top 10 in MVP voting.
  24. I just read that if the bulls amnesty Booz and move dunleavy we could get melo 18mm year one. Is that without Mirotic? How does that compare with any team other than the Knicks.
  25. If he is really serious about winning it all he should sign for the vet min with the Heat. They would be unstoppable.
