  1. Bill Simmons tweeted his '08 mock draft with Chad Ford. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2008/columns/story?page=DraftDebate-080624&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab1pos1 I know drafts are an inexact science, but holy crap was Ford particularly terrible. First, he defended Oden over Durant, then proceeded to say: *Beasley would be awesome *Love is the Adam Morrison of the '08 draft (wouldn't be a good rebounder) *Didn't like Eric Gordon *Darrell Arthur is a smooth scorer that reminds him of Antawn Jamison *Liked Mario Chalmers a lot *DeAndre Jordan would be a bust
  2. Snyder? Hahaha, that guy has been gone for over five years and nobody will defend him! And please, educate me on what puts Mike Anderson in crazy Frank Martin's class. Oh right he recruited Stefhon Hannah, then four other guys who he didn't recruit got into a fight. What an indictment! I don't know if it's as black and white as that, but yeah, that sounds pretty close to right.
  3. That's some real logic there. I love how Mizzou basketball is all high and mighty due to having more fans that post on NSBB than the one lone KSU fan. Oh, and we were going to suck when Beasley and Walker left, but finished 4th in the Big 12 the following year. Kelly and Pullen are the 2 best players we have and they'll be gone next year. Those statements are totally logical too.. Magruder has been our 2nd best player and most consistent player all year. How's this for logic....We've finished above you in the Big 12 standings 4 out of the last 5 years. Our historical record vs you is within 5 games I believe. The 2 programs aren't "that" different. Get off your pedistal. First, learn to spell pedestal. Then, stow all that talk about how great KSU is. Nobody was comparing Missouri and KSU. You decided to make a false statement that Missouri fouls more than any other team in the country, when it's simply not true. Now you're trying to deflect all that and tell us how strong KSU will be next year. Great, don't care. And thugball? From a KSU fan? The same school that hired Bob Huggins and now Frank Martin? Thanks for the laugh.
  4. That's some real logic there.
  5. Every game Mizzou plays is a foul fest. How is KSU any different than other games Mizzou plays on the road and can't win? Because KSU commits more fouls than just about anyone, Mizzou included. Mizzou's entire defense is based on clubbing the [expletive] out of people. They foul more than any team in america. It wasn't an editorial statement(or even particularly negative toward KSU for that matter). Mizzou is 3rd in the Big 12 in fouls committed, KSU is 2nd Oh snap.
  6. Who guarded Jordan in that game?
  7. That performance by Bosh was Paul Shirley-esque.
  8. I don't know why people should fret about the Celtics losing Perkins. They've got the O'Neals!
  9. The Bulls don't suck. Miami is just better. I don't buy it. Perhaps you should.
  10. Pacers are doing work.
  11. And I don't care that they're 11-2 in conference, they still need to do something to belong a tourney berth (even with a horrendous bubble) Like I said last week, there are 9 Big Ten teams with better tournament resumes than Alabama. I think the SEC West will get shut out.
  12. http://a.espncdn.com/media/motion/2011/0120/dm_110120_ncb_gottlieb_sandiegostate.jpg "Matt Pressey is the worst guard I've ever seen."
  13. Which is exactly where most people still seem to stand. Fine? My original statement was that the people were saying the Bulls needed Carmelo. Keener said if I had heard that, I didn't get it from here. But I did get it from here.
  14. So what you are saying is your comment about "Bulls fans thinking Carmelo was the missing piece and now hes not a top 10 player in the game" was wrong just like I said. No.
  15. There's also people arguing against Carmelo, but it's more about not trading Noah to get him.
  16. Where are you getting that? Surely not from this thread. Ha. Strong argument. Yeah, I started picturing that as I was typing and it dawned on me how absolutely physical they would be. It would be like hitting a football team with two 250 pound running backs. Both of them are pretty bullish. Hurry up and do the trade so I can see them on opening night, you whores Should never completely reject the thought of acquiring one of the top 5-7 players in the game for any reason.
  17. Where are you getting that? Surely not from this thread. Ha.
  18. Well that happened fast.
  19. When the alternative is an overpaid Deng coming off 3 subpar years, a player like Anthony being available is a major step up. After 6 months of sustained good play from Deng, and a drop-off from Melo, even a straight-up swap wasn't so obvious anymore. Carmelo Anthony is a really good one-on-one iso offensive player. He's also a decent rebounder. He does nothing else, though, and when all you do is shoot and your TS% is comparative to Jamal Crawford and Kirk Hinrich, you are not very valuable. And Derrick Rose, too. Don't forget about him. ETA: I was being a wise ass. No dissertations on the greatness of Derrick Rose please.
  20. Fair enough, but I think it's funny how Carmelo went from being the missing piece for the Bulls to a guy who isn't one of the 20 best players in the NBA.
  21. Not better than them at what?
  22. Well this is shorting Carmelo quite a bit because he's at least Dirk and Durant's equal on defense. Rose is a better passer, but he's not a better rebounder and they are equal at shooting. Carmelo is quite easily a Top 10 player.
  23. The Kings have some nice pieces, but their chemistry (and defense) is godawful. I thought they'd be an entertaining trainwreck that wins 30 games; instead, they're just a depressing mess.
  24. KU's 10th man could be a starter for every other team so they will probably be just fine
  25. "Alright now everything was reasonable and fair but then you asked for Mozgov. That's where we draw the line. We simply don't want or need Carmelo bad enough to give up Timofey Mozgov." Those 4 points/3 boards per game are too crucial.
