It would be really nice if BJ Young gave it some second thought now and chose Indiana instead but I doubt it. Doesn't Young have academic/discipline issues? I thought IU (and Illinois) backed off him thinking he may not even qualify. He was suspended two games this season for being ejected in two games. St. Louis P-D is reporting that Young is uncertain about Arkansas now.

It wouldn't shock me. Syracuse won four in four days a few years ago and lost to Vermont in the first round. I had those bastards in the Final Four too. /bitter The year they won the Big East Tournament with McNamara's late shots, they were a 5 seed and lost to A&M. I had picked A&M to get to the Sweet 16, instead that clown shoes team from LSU beat them by one and went to the Final Four. That was Iowa's region when they were a 3 seed. FML Northwestern St was my best upset pick that year. I had that pick, too. The year before I had Vermont over Syracuse, but that was trendy so I didn't feel a sense of accomplishment.

Instead we'll get Jim Nantz in his second week of doing college basketball in the last 11 months. I can't believe ESPN or Fox hasn't snatched him up yet. At least we still have Joe Buck!

Again, this is insane. The book is about how sabermetrics are foiled because of random events like pigeon [expletive]. That's [expletive] stupid. You don't throw out 80 years of data and scrap player evaluations because of random events. Besides, randomness has already been accounted for and it's called BABIP. For chrissakes, we've known that since Crash Davis. -
I don't think Illinois avoids the 8-9 seed.

By this you mean the lone dissenting voice has been sufficiently mocked and shouted down. There's no defending the premise of this book. It's insane. -
