John Smoltz and Chris Carpenter complained about some slick baseballs during a series in Cincinnati in 2009. It was such a problem for Carpenter that they won his start, 13-0. And yeah, Carpenter is always making excuses for losing against the Reds, since it's happened all of four times in his career.
