  1. Oh god Peja's on the floor.
  2. All that was missing from Bosh's chest-puffing after blocking Barea was giving him the Mutumbo finger wag. How asinine.
  3. Nowitzki is rattled, and Joel Anthony of all people did it to him.
  4. I like Chris Bosh's strategy against Chandler. It's like the offensive version of the Vlade Flop.
  5. Oh look, Mike Bibby made his first good play of the game.
  6. The Miami crowd is lifeless.
  7. You see how your own fans treat you Albert??? There's St. Louis loyalty for you!!! I'm just not a big fan of James Loney.
  8. For the Cubs' sake, they should probably go after Fielder. I love Pujols, but he's either not healthy or lost his mojo between last September and this April.
  9. Me too. I hope like hell Miami loses, but it won't bug me seeing LBJ get a championship like it would have a few months ago.
  10. I would hold off on saying that he's peaked until they surround him with better players. His numbers look pretty "meh" on everything not at the rim, but I'm curious how much of that is his true ability and how much it was being guarded by a team's best defender since there were no other options.
  11. Some of you are way too pessimistic.
  12. I fell asleep after the first seven minutes and didn't realize he finished with that line. Still, that was a horrible start to the game.
  13. It's really unfair how good Wade and LBJ are on the defensive end. And is Joel Anthony that good or is Carlos Boozer playing that poorly?
  14. I think the call was on whoever guarded the inbounds pass.
  15. Bulls have no chance. Rose isn't going to draw a foul unless he's stabbed.
  16. Tackling Rose is an acceptable defensive play.
  17. I guess it speaks more of the Mets' mediocrity that he's flying under the radar, but a .280/.377/.538 line after playing in 145 games the past two seasons isn't too shabby. Beltran's UZR says he's not a center fielder anymore, but his Plus/Minus has him as a solid defender. The best part is that his comeback coincides with his impending free agency.
  18. I never said he was being a Dusty apologist. He linked to an article about Brennaman's comments on Cardinals management being whiners, and I pointed out how idiotic they are considering who's managing the Reds.
  19. Yeah, always whining. Like that time La Russa complained he didn't know a huge storm was going to hit St. Louis so he started his pitcher, then...wait, no. That's not right. That was Dusty Baker. Or that time La Russa complained about the way he was treated by the A's four years after he was...wait, I guess that was Dusty Baker again. OH I KNOW! John Smoltz and Chris Carpenter complained about some slick baseballs during a series in Cincinnati in 2009. It was such a problem for Carpenter that they won his start, 13-0. And yeah, Carpenter is always making excuses for losing against the Reds, since it's happened all of four times in his career.
  20. I didn't read close enough and thought Jeff Kent hated baseball.
  21. Almost as weird as someone using his picture as a sig and avatar. They are funny pictures.
  22. I can't believe Mike Anderson didn't send out feelers for the Maryland job.
  23. We're still early enough in the season where Theriot will be able to slap a few singles and get his OPS back to .700, but he's been a pretty unremarkable player. He's hitting .287/.341/.320 right now and I feel pretty comfortable saying that's where he ends up. When factoring in his shitty defense, we're looking at a replacement-level player. That would be more than enough to stomach if Theriot was making peanuts, but he's getting $3.3 million to provide chemistry. No matter how many times we're assured by Al Hrabosky that we shouldn't worry about Theriot because that one time he had a good walk rate and he probably had a tough at-bat against Brad Lidge, there are still some of us who know what he is. Also, it would be less annoying if the little [expletive] didn't think of himself as Ozzie Smith at shortstop. All undersized white players get unwarranted love. And I wouldn't be surprised if he gets an ovation, either.
