  1. I've yet to see anything close to whining in this thread about it, just laughing at how whiny Bill Self sounds. I am completely indifferent to Missouri playing KU. Missouri rarely wins, and they'll have enough issues with Kentucky twice a year.
  2. Exactly. Ha. Well, it doesn't make sense, as you go on to explain... KU is a five-star program; Missouri is a second-tier school. Only in the rarest instances will they be able to outdo KU for prospects. The best prospects in the KC area are going to choose KU; Missouri being in the SEC will not change that. So really, what else qualifies as "KU's best interests" here? I've yet to see them "grovel" but OK.
  3. Nailed it. But they'll never be your rival. When you lose to a team 60-70% of the time, you need a century of hate to make it into a rivalry (since your performance in games can't generate that interest.) That's irrelevant. If Mizzou Arena can fill up for a game a January game against Texas Tech, they can fill up against Kentucky. Missouri does not need KU. Some fans may want to see it continue, but the program itself will be fine without that game.
  4. they shouldn't. just like no team should feel obligated to play a non-conference game against another team. I've never said they should. My point is that if KU would just say "it's no longer in our best interests to continue this rivalry" it would be a whole lot better than Self constantly launching into a rant about how Missouri jilted the Big 12.
  5. I disagree, but OK. That sounds like a pretty lame goal. Good luck to the programs on convincing some Blue Springs kid that KU is better because they didn't leave a sinking ship. Fair enough, but the allegiance thing is flimsy when it's been apparent for two years that you better find a stable home before Division I blows up. I'm not sure why any team should have felt obligated to stick around for the other schools in the conference.
  6. If it was the Post-Dispatch's intent to get Bill Self to look like a petulant child, I'd say it was a resounding success. Link
  7. this about sums it up. Heh.
  8. Don't worry, the NIT airs in SEC country, too.
  9. A 2 seed means jack [expletive]... make a Sweet 16 and then brag. Whoosh.
  10. Yes, it does pay, but a 2 seed in a season where they have six players will make up for it.
  11. For some reason the offense is running through Matt Pressey.
  12. Good god I hate K-State. I love how they're allowed to wrap their arms around players on screens. Nifty play, Frank Martin.
  13. Charles Oakley went hard in the paint on Kevin Garnett: Apropos of nothing, but I just thought it was amusing.
  14. Budinger would be the best bet, but I'm not sure what incentive Houston has for trading him.
  15. Oh nice, LeBron just casually throws up a half-court alley oop to Wade.
  16. Not sure why Jason Kidd giving Lin a hug is meaningful, but whatever.
  17. I was thinking the same thing. How many times is Lin going to try to spin right and fall down?
  18. Lin hasn't played 38 minutes per game since Harvard apparently. Pretty crazy he was able to play 95 percent of the time.
  19. Kennedy crying about the charge call late.
  20. I will never understand why Missouri can't win in College Station.
  21. I wish I could see this beating on OSU.
  22. Baylor got whipped twice this week and voters still held them in the Top 10.
  23. EDIT: Beat me to it.
  24. Lunardi had Baylor as a 3-seed yesterday. Looking at the remainder of their schedule, I think they're going to play themselves down to a 5.
