  1. Beltran was poor offensively at Minute Maid, but hit well on the road. His defense was a saving grace for the Astros in both scenarios. What's odd is that, despite Beltran's lack of production at home, the Astros still reeled off, what, 18 home wins in a row? Amazing.
  2. If you delete the "&highlight=search query" section of the URL, then the link will work properly. Maybe the bug is related to the post search-parsing or highlighting functions?
  3. Yeah, he needs time to adjust. Just like Patterson needs to adjust, and Perez needs to adjust, and so on. Fact is, Dubois wasn't hitting, and Hollandsworth is. For a team that's scratching & clawing trying to stay in the race, playing 52-card pickup while waiting for a rook to make adjustments to big-league pitching just isn't going to cut it. If (when?) the Cubs fall 8 or 9 back in the WC, then fine, play Dubois 'til he finds his stroke. Until then, you've got to go with the player who is producing. And don't make me bring up the guy's defensive performance thus far. . .
  4. I'm just glad that the changes have finally been made. If the new line-up pays off, then the Dusty bashers are justified. If the team continues to struggle, then there's really little else that can be done to the line-up at this point, and the Dusty haters should can it (many still won't, obviously). All and all, this is probably the best 1 through 8 that the Cubs can send out there given the current roster. Until a trade happens, this line-up will need to get the job done. I honestly don't understand how the Dubois supporters can continue to throw this option out there. Dubois was given ample opportunity, didn't produce, and Hollandsworth has been hitting lately. I just can't understand the logic in taking a step backwards, other than just for blind player preference.
  5. It doesn't really matter what the Astros or Cards are doing at this point; the Cubs are their own worst enemy.
  6. Carlos probably has the most personality, but does he truly fit the "I Live For This" line? After all, he's already made it known that soccer is his first love, not baseball. I voted for Barrett; he seems to have the most dedicated attitude and fire in the belly for baseball of all the choices.
  7. 4 Upper Deck Box (Sec 427) tix for Sunday, July 31 vs. ARZ. . . the only game I could go to this season, so I'm grateful. Really wanted Field Boxes, though. :P I had about 25 windows going, only the one successful hit. Keep trying folks, you can do it!
