The playoffs arent a roll of the dice by any means, but they are certainly about the team that puts it all together at the right time. If you make the playoffs year after year, eventually your going to play your best baseball in October.

    Wow....so I'm going to watch Lilly pitch for the Chiefs on the same night that Shark pitches for the Cubs. I just can't imagine rehab Lilly being worse than BP Samardzija. *crosses fingers that I'm wrong*

    I agree. Have him do what hes doing now next year, and if he keeps doing what he has been this year offensively, he should be given the 1B jon in 2011. I know that there are great deal of non-athlete types that play first (picturing Jim Thome) but I feel spoiled by what D Lee has done defensively. What he does makes the shortcomings of guys like Theriot less noticable. I just can't possibly picture Fox being anywhere close to that. So now you make first base weaker defensively and makes the weaknesses of others more noticable. I like building Jake up and then shipping the guy off to a team that can afford a weak defensive player somewhere. Hopefully Vitters turns into what we want him to and can take third in 2012. Move Rammy to first and viola. I just don't want this guy playing everyday unless one of our other defensive abombanations isn't off this team.

    The way this season is going, Gorz will stay on the roster to replace whoever gets hurt the day before Lilly gets activated.

    Seriously? Everyone knows that he is more usefull filling in for Marmol in the event that we need to use Carlos as the backup catcher. He threw a perfect eighth for the cardinals last year so makes sense to me.

    Madness. I would love to see him play again. Just not for the Cubs.

    Having that bat in the lineup will be huge.... The fact that this conversation is even happening makes me sick.

    \ Hill isn't going anywhere. Catching is the probably the most important defensive position in the game and Soto can't do it every day.

    I like throwing Blanco in there for the day in such a big park. The guy has some speed and could easily drop a couple in the gaps and run all day in that monstrosity. Theriot needs to get some days off down the stretch and this is a good time to do it. We dont need him getting tired and turning into crap again.

    He was heating up in spurts before the injury without losing weight. He is a huge upgrade over Hill if he hits the way he was before the injury.

    I can't wait to see what awesome insight they are going to have on it this time. Maybe they can have Joe Morgan narrate. Seriously, can't they just let this go for awhile. I'm not saying they should act like it never happened but it seems like every year they revisit it over and over.

    Thats good to know, of course anyone who runs into the Phillies or Dodgers with Halladay in October wont have a lot of fun. No need to have playoff baseball if the Dodgers get him. Then again I was also sure the Cubs would roll through last year's playoffs. :D On XM Home Plate yesterday someone(don't remember who it was reporting) said that Halladay to the Dodgers would start with Russell Martin and a top prospect.

    This app is worth way more to me than the 10 bucks. Having every teams broadcast with you all of the time is amazing. This combined with slingbox has made it possible for me to catch almost every game no matter where I am.

    As nice as it would be to have home runs in bunches Soriano back, what this team has to have is a decent Soriano. I want him to come up with a runner on third and 1 out and know that he can put the ball into play. Maybe drop that bat weight down a bit so he can pull back on the low slider he just can't seem to hold off of. I have no doubt that he is putting in every effort to fix this.
