  1. I understand, but this early in the year you can only really go by history and last years performance. They might very well regress to an middle of the league D, but I'm not betting on that quite yet
  2. Carson Palmer at Green Bay or Joe Flacco at San Diego? Heavily leaning towards Flacco considering how bad San Diego's pass D was last year. Just want to make sure I'm not crazy
  3. I'd start Cooley. I avoid anyone playing Tennessee/Pittsburgh/Baltimore like the plague.
  4. I don't have any problem at all with this. People seem to be angry at the media when they lob softball questions and detail everything with rose covered glasses. But when they actually try to write a piece with an edge showing that things aren't rosy, then the media gets criticized for going too far. Sullivan didn't get into anyone's personal life etc. It was a story about a hugely dysfunctional baseball team and a refreshing read imo.
  5. I've actually opened up the piggy bank and bought tickets to this game with my brothers/gfs/wives etc. Going to be up at the KMart parking lot hopefully by 10 am to get set up for a long day of drinking/grilling/bags/fun My head and heart are telling me different things about this game and as always I'll go with the heart. Bears 27- Packers 20 Bear Down.
  6. Is it bad that I find the whole tradition of the 7th inning stretch overrated? I'm not sure what that means
  7. We should pool our money and buy him a motorcycle courtesy of the NSBB
  8. I'd love to see Milton vs. AJ. Well worth the price of admission
  9. Baseball Reference has Soriano's Avg Walks for a 162 game season at 41 and Theriot at 58. If Soriano does on average see more pitches, I definitely haven't seen that stat and apologize for that. I guess it is how you define the word hitting. I think offensively they both can and should be damn fine players for very different reasons
  10. I suppose. I think it's more in-depth than strictly a numbers thing. Generally speaking when both are hitting how I expect them to I think Theriot works a better count, is more versatile in terms of hitting the balls the other way/bunts, draws more walks and yes he does have a higher average. Soriano's power potential obviously makes up for his deficiencies in areas that Theriot is better. But as far a better hitter, with how I view the term, it's Theriot for me
  11. I always thought of Riot as a better hitter. Soriano used to be a better run producer. Not to get all semantics
  12. Oh Jake Fox... Time to go to the AL and DH as much as I love you
  13. /bump Interview is up. Yes, maybe loaded questions. But I think they needed to serve as the voice of the fans and everything Mac/Spiegs asked are questions I want to know the answers to and topics we've discussed here ad naseum.
  14. Sorry I didn't know this was happening earlier, happen to flip on the radio and catch the interview. The interview will be up on podcast at this site later I'd assume: http://www.670thescore.com/The-Danny-Mac-Show---General-Interviews/4574715 Credit to Mac and Spiegs asking some tough questions about Zambrano's behavior, the inflated long contracts etc. Jim clearly wasn't in the mood to deal with anything other than softball questions and there was some palpable tension in the interview. Edit: Some people might view his responses differently, and I'm sure my personal view of Hendry and how he's dealt with the media in the past comes out in my assessment of the interview.

  16. Your optimism makes me happy.
  17. My buddy is a die hard Sox fan. From what he says they are projecting him to be a 3rd or 4th kind of starter. But who knows, he might be way off base.
  18. So I woke up today and flipped on ESPN as I'm getting ready for work as I usually do...the first thing I see...'Brad Penny dominates in Giants debut' Needless to say I quickly put on TBS and Saved by the Bell.
  19. Ha! I was JUST starting this. At least we get a game on someone regardless. I like the Happ/Penny matchup too!
  20. That's basically a necessity at this point. Off to a good start though I suppose
  21. Blum pops out to Baker Cubs win! Cubs win!! \:D/ \:D/
  22. Two outs. Tejada, I think, flies out. Geoff Blum pinch hitting for Jason Michaels
  23. Lee hits a single on an 0-2 count. 1 out, runners on 1st and 2nd.
  24. Tying run at the plate in the form of Carlos Lee.
  25. Bourn pinch hitting to open the 9th. Marmol in to close. 0 outs 2-1 count currently
