  1. Guzman will probably be sent back down. With Wood back, he is not needed in the rotation any longer. Give him time to perfect his trade in Iowa. Kasey
  2. No..I think it's more of a sign that Barrett and Blanco are back now that the WBC is over and we don't need all thoses catchers in camp.
  3. Keep trying...THat happened to me 4 times before I finally got thru
  4. SUCCESS! 2 bleacher tickets for the Saturday game against the White Sox! Got in in the 1st 15 minutes..first time thats ever happened!
  5. Well..seeing that the Kathy & Judy session is really not about baseball and more about the people the players are, and having fun with them, maybe it's just not your cup of tea. As for me, I find this session a must see every year. I find it quite funny and I enjoy it quite a bit.
  6. Listach will be the Daytona manager Here are all the assignments from the Cubs Website http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060105&content_id=1291710&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc

  8. The coolest thing about this is a former co-worker of mine is a friend of Colletti's from back in the days Ned was working for the Cubs and he was working for the Tribune in their data processing department. Back then, Dan (my former co-worker) was helping Colletti gather data on players and putting that data in to computers. Dan says Ned is one of the brightest men he has ever met. Even though they last talked last SPring Training, they were supposed to get together this summer, but something came up at the last minute and Colletti couldn't make it. Congrats to Ned Colletti...and Dan...remember me when I need Cubs Dodger tickets. Kasey
  9. WHere in the heck would you play Thome? He can only play 1st or are you planning on dumping the younger and better Lee after the spectacular year he just had?
  10. Did they offer you the chance to upgrade after the 2004 season? I'm almost positive they said I couldn't because of the crazy demand for season tickets. You've had your seats a lot longer than I have, though, right? My first season was 2000. That could be the reason why. They did offer, but said availability was very limited. Maybe it was because I've had my tickets since 84. My buddy who sits next to me became a season ticket holder in 88 and he got the offer too. We didn't move, but we were offered the opportunity.
  11. WHen the season ticket renewal goes out to current season ticket holdrs, they are asked if they want to upgrade/move their seats (with the disclaimer that it is based on availability). So current season ticket holders have the 1st shot to upgrade. After all that is done, THEN any new season tickets may be sold to new people. Thats why we as season ticket holders have to be paid in full in January and the Cubs do not open up new season ticket sales until sometime in February. Kasey
  12. For what it's worth....I have the 2006 schedule up on my web site in a nice easily readable calendar format Kasey
  13. Wow...2 threads on this and not 1 closed yet... viewtopic.php?t=25885
  14. No One? Well...Since I won't be back here for a while, I'll give the answer. It was a trick question. Jim Finks was the Cubs President in 1984. Of course, the Hall of Fame he was elected to was the Football Hall of Fame. Kasey
  15. Mickey Morandini did it while he was with the Phillies (9/20/92) ...... but..... Jimmy Cooney did it while he was with the Cubs on 5/30/1927 against the Pirates in Pittsburgh Kasey
  16. Can't answer the other questions, but here is a new one... Can anyone name the Cubs executive from the 1984 season who was elected to the Hall Of Fame? Awaiting your answers Kasey
  17. Hey Tim...count me in on the people who the new post indicators are not working properly. For your information, I am using IE and yes, I did clear out my cookies and restarted my browser. The orange new posts were at the top level of the forums, saying there were new posts in say here - Baseball Discussions, Transactions and Social, but when I enter Baseball Discussions, there was no topics marked with new posts. WHen I left, all the boards were not marked with new posts. Kasey
  18. They ARE in colorado. That schedule only shows home dates for the Rockies. It would be "at CHC" if it was at Wrigley. OOps...my mistake...I saw the @ sign and assumed it was away...Sorry
  19. It was either Joe Pepitone or Steve Ontiveros (of Hairline Creations fame!) (Pepi wore a tupe, but I am not sure he admitted it...Ontiveros of course did Hairline Creations commercials)
  20. THe Rockies tenative Schedule shows that they are playing here in CHicago on August 11,12 & 13 (you show them in Colorado) http://colorado.rockies.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/col/schedule/tentative_2006_season_schedule.jsp
  21. I dont think so.. Here are a couple of pictures of Vince, one early one off the net I found and one I took in 1983 http://tinypic.com/earqe8.jpghttp://tinypic.com/ear60x.jpg
  22. Dick Ruthven? You got it! I won many a bar bet on that one. No one seems to remember him on that team. Kasey
  23. I have the game on tape. It WAS ESPN doing the broadcast, but like the playoffs this year, WGN got to broadcast it locally in Chicago...using the ESPN feed. My tape is off WGN. Kasey
  24. Heres one...WHo was the opening day pitcher for the Cubs in 1984? Kasey
  25. No, this feat of Carmen's had nothing to do with his musical talents. Hint: He accomplished the feat in question while playing defense. He caught the last out of Milt Pappas's No Hitter on Sept 2, 1972 Kasey
