  1. Two 20 dong guys before the halfway point.
  2. All is well. Until 10 minutes from now when we all lose our horsefeathers again.
  3. Cubs have rocked Scherzer, Gerrit Cole, Greinke, Garret Richards, and I thought thet had a late lead against Strasburg? Was there unearned runs? Those all happened May 6 and before hand when the offense was a monster. So they don't count? Gee, what a surprise, the offense hasn't done as well against good pitchers during the same period that they haven't done as well overall. And, if you throw out the times they've done well, then things look even worse! People have complained about you being negative, because you seemingly have done nothing but whine about a team that has the best record in baseball and a double digit lead in the division. If it wasn't this little ditty you drew up about our offense against good pitching, then it would be something else. If this team frustrates you so much, I can't imagine how insufferable you will be when we actually suck again.
  4. Thank god we didn't extend him in the off-season.
  5. I'm just hoping to see Jake not walk a ton of guys and leave before the 6th. Anything else is gravy.
  6. You are the absolute worst. You really feel good about playing these guys in October? Um, yes. Their former Golden Boy, Harvey, sucks. Their new two young studs have to go to the hospital every time they pitch. And their offense is putrid. There's a reason they are barely .500.
  7. It will come back eventually and it will be glorious. We need to get guys healthy, for sure. Dex being back will help that. Heyward needs to get his head out of his ass. That will allow other guys to go into mini-slumps and us still be alright. But we are always frightening with Bryzzo in the lineup. We'll be back to that death machine lineup eventually, though.
  8. We have the best record in baseball and are going to win over 100 games. I don't find that disheartening. you know exactly what i'm saying. you don't have to pretend like you haven't been disappointed in the team lately. I'm disappointed that they've been losing more lately. They are better than this. And I am always upset about losing. I wouldn't say that I am upset with the season, though, when we are 20+ games over .500, have the division wrapped up already, and have a ton of exciting, good young players.
  9. We have a double digit division lead. Perspective. It could be worse. perspective is the only reason i said it. they're having a great season because of the scorching start, but they've been disappointing for like 2 months now. the fact that we're keeping our 10 game lead due to playing in a terrible division doesn't make the mediocrity any less disheartening. We have the best record in baseball and are going to win over 100 games. I don't find that disheartening.
  10. Mr. Arbitrary Endpoints strikes again! Yeah, this has not been fun though. Hey at some point they went from playing out of this world to slumping. Based on record alone this is when the "slump" started record wise. I put slump in parenthesis because we're still 14-12 in that period which is an 87 win pace I think he's talking more about the idea that we can't beat good teams and can only beat bad teams now. Everyone knows we haven't played as well. But there's nothing to this sub-.500 and above-.500 split. It's small sample size nonsense.
  11. We have a double digit division lead. Perspective. It could be worse.
  12. League average, the runner scores 51% of the time. Cubs are at 53% of the time, which is tied for 10th in MLB. Cubs's BA is .373 in these situations, which is 7th in MLB.
  13. Well, that actually worked. And there is no way Almora is taking a walk... so I take back my complaint.
  14. Why are we letting one of the worst hitters in the league hit for a decent one?
