  1. I don't know if it is more dominant. But it feels better.
  2. More importantly, has he been using this time off to practice bat flip techniques?
  3. I don't understand this need to trade away our good young players. SIgn FA starting pitching. Trade guys in the minors. Don't trade our big league guys. http://i.imgur.com/ThQ0nxT.gif Seriously, don't trade away any of my babies. Roll with these starters we have now until they are broke. And then buy some more. Augment our future rotation options with trades. We don't need any of our minor league position players. (I'd like to keep Eloy, since I love him.) But, you can trade all those scrubs away. You can get something. I don't care much what it is. But, don't trade my babies.
  4. It is now impossible for me to not say Nieuwenhuis's name in the same manner that Seinfeld says Newman's name.
  5. I'm starting to come around to the idea of just saying "horsefeathers it" and rolling out a Schwarber/Heyward/Soler outfield. I think the effects of the bad defense get lessened for a number of reasons: 1. Who gives a horsefeathers; look at all those dingers. 2. Like you said, if Almora is still there to fill in as a platoon guy/defensive replacement, that mitigates things a little. 3. If Schwarber can catch, even occasionally, then it allows us to play Bryant out there a little bit, too. So we would have the defensive replacement waiting at all times. And we'd have a couple other options, with Almora and Bryant, so that we wouldn't have to roll with that alignment every single day. Mainly, I'm willing to live with it because of all the dongs, though.
  6. I love Willson catching Jake today. With Dexter back and now Soler back and crushing the ball, Willson really shouldn't play in the outfield the rest of the year, save for maybe here and there -- every other week or so. In which case, he needs to catch. He needs to be in the lineup. And he's a catcher. That's where his value comes. Keep him behind the plate and let Miggy rot away.
  7. About all you could ask is for him to continue making improvements at making contact. The power is nice. The ability to walk is great. If he makes more contact, then the power plays up even more. And he'd become an on-base machine. Throw in some Gold Glove defense at short, and he's a superstar.
  8. Another good start. Now whip out the dongs and humiliate them.
  9. [tweet]https://twitter.com/JorgeSoler68/status/766111211058364416[/tweet]
  10. I'm only still around because I am hoping to catch another glimpse of Jorge's dong.
  11. Well, at least that means that Jorge gets another whack at Nelson.
  12. Please leave him in for a little more pounding.
  13. If Jorge is actually a good hitter now, I just, I don't even know what to think.
  14. Coghlan has to hit the DL because the pen is thin with us going to a 6-man rotation. Patton stays up for a couple days until they sign Papelbon. We keep Coghlan, La Stella, and Smith and bring them all back when rosters expand.
  15. If it was up to me, he would be there. They'll justify it with veteran BS but it's more about keeping a rectum at peace. I don't think so. I think Joe has a lot of faith in Hendricks at this point. He doesn't have a short leash on him, letting him go for complete games even. And he speaks glowingly of him. Kyle is one of the top starters in the league, and they know it. They'll give him every opportunity to help us out in the playoffs.
  16. Honestly, this worked out pretty great. Instead of Tommy wilting away in Iowa for a month, with everyone asking questions about why he was still down there when he's proven to be a big league player, we get this. Tommy takes a vacation and then reports to the minors and gets acclimated to baseball again. And then the rosters expand almost immediately.
