  1. We just have to ride it out. Rizzo has these 2-3 week funks occasionally. This one is just poorly timed Or maybe it's perfectly timed, since we are still alive and it hasn't mattered. Get hot tomorrow.
  2. Except for his incessant whining about Kris Bryant not hitting third. Wasn't that Smoltz? I thought that was Smoltz. Oh. Yeah, you're right. And Smoltz has really been grinding my gears.
  3. Except for his incessant whining about Kris Bryant not hitting third.
  4. Javy always knows where the cameras are at.
  5. Only 113 on the other one? He's slacking. Needs to be more consistent.
  6. Yes. This. It baits them into using the lefty-heavy lineup, which they would be all too happy to oblige us with. Then you bring in the lefties out of the pen. And they are left with this choice: Let the lefty-heavy lineup stay in against our lefty arms or... remove those lefties out of the lineup so as not to face our lefty arms, which then means they can't be used again later in the game when we come back with power righty arms. This ensures a healthy amount of left-on-left ABs, or it makes them twist and turn their lineup into a tizzy by trying to match up.
  7. If he's moving at all, then I want him on the World Series roster. Hell, even if he can't move, we can wheel him out to the batter's box and he can crawl around the bases.
  8. That's going, like, 130 mph, too. Insane.
  9. Well, it is going to be difficult for Joe to choose which of his 10 4-win players to play each day.
  10. Yeah, especially if the idea is just to get to a guy quicker. You're still on the verge of elimination if you win. Save him for when he is fully rested. Try to steal that game and you still have your ace coming on normal rest later. If he's only starting two games anyway, and you have to win four games anyway, then don't get desperate. Let it play out.
  11. Also, someone interviewing Javy was talking about how a bunch of guys contributed. He then asked Javy about how balanced this team is. Javy said, "Yeah, I've been playing really great defense. And I've been hitting really good, too."
  12. Theo was at one point instructed: "Describe the range of emotions the last few days." "Frustrated, then happy, now thirsty." Then he walked away.
  13. I just did the same thing, in reverse. I watched all the post-game footage I could and then read through the last 20 pages of this thread. Handing out hearts like:
  14. That's a good thing for plot structure, because we are sweeping the next two series.
  15. After scouring the internet for celebration coverage and interviews, I don't remember where I saw it. But a reporter in the clubhouse asked Javy, "Do you know you are now a nationwide superstar?" Javy's response: "Yeah."
  16. horsefeathers that even year [expletive]. We'll end it ourselves. In your place.
