  1. Can't overturn. You can tell when the hand is over the plate but not on it.
  2. Not to get too meatbally or narrative-driven, but, John, you talk all this big talk about jewelry and being ready to go in the post-season, and you are facing a little kid tonight. I know you aren't really going head-to-head. But, it's time to back that talk up and show him how it's done. We get this to 2-2 and the Dodgers are facing the prospect of facing Lester in Game 5. And they know they can't hit him. And a loss in that game would mean they head to Chicago having to win both games. We start dictating the terms of this series with one win tonight. They'd be all but forced to go to Kershaw in Game 5. And that's what I want. Get him on short rest and make him beat our best at full strength.
  3. I don't want that pain, though. horsefeathering win this game and take the series.
  4. I'm glad there wasn't an off-day after that one last night. Let's get right back in there tonight and turn this thing around. And, if not, may our pain be swift and sudden.
  5. Baseball is awesome. And the Cubs are awesome. Win this and we're alright.
  6. And count me in as a big "NO" to starting Lester tomorrow. I've been arguing against starting guys on short rest throughout the playoffs, and I guess I never thought of that being a thing for us. But starting Lester back-to-back outings on short rest seems like a really bad idea to me. Also, I still like how this thing lines up for us, without needing to resort to desperation. For one, it's 2-1. Everyone needs to calm down. Secondly, Urias has barely been used, hasn't been exerted in awhile, is really young, and isn't Clayton Kershaw (yet). Who knows how he'll come out tomorrow? I'm not shaking in my boots or anything. Get it to 2-2 and let Lester do his thing before heading home. And if they want, go ahead and start Kershaw on short rest against Lester, if it's tied. That would be one way to turn this series on its head, if Lester, at full strength, out duels him. Use Lackey tomorrow. Put him on a short leash. Win. Then we quit freaking out.
  7. Guys, Heyward Fan and Ski think you are being over-the-top. Seriously.
  8. These threads, man. Carbon copy of NLDS thread, and we won that series 3-1.
  9. Just don't swing at any curves. He can't get it over. And we are running that pitch count way up. Make him throw us heaters.
