  1. For a friend!? Not even a family member? Absolutely not. He can go horsefeathers himself.
  2. Yeah, this Indians team doesn't scare me at all. Sure, anything could happen. But if we beat Kluber in Game 1 -- which we will -- this series is going to be short and sweet.
  3. I was lucky enough to watch the game with my dad last night. He was very happy and said he didn't think he'd ever see this day. My grandfather passed away two years ago, after 90 years of torment from the Cubbies. But my grandmother is still going strong at 93 and still watches every game. My dad said she'd been taking naps during the day last week so she could stay up to watch the games.
  4. I've celebrated. I've digested it. Time for some schadenfreude.

  6. Let's not forget the real hero of the night:
  7. It's just now setting in that we are going to the World Series, and I'm so happy.
  8. Duke, I must say your posts as of late have been extremely positive, unwavering, and borderline fanatical. That being said you've been right on the money recently with your awesomeness. Keep up the good work! :hello: I'm trying to see how crazy I can get with the optimism without them making me look silly. I haven't found that level yet.
  9. Schwarber is going 3-5 with two dongs in Game 1.
  10. Rizzo waving Javy off on the next pop-up was pretty funny, too.
  11. *Recalibrates Playoff Odds algorithm that thought the Dodgers were better than the Cubs*
  12. It only seems fitting, then, that we made Derek Law die this year.
  13. Man, seeing Javy's face in the post-game interview with the FS1 crew really hit me in the feels. He was so freaking happy. Everyone else seemed more what I would describe as excited or pumped-up. But Javy was full of joy. That smile he had on his face... fantastic. With everything he's gone through, both in baseball and with personal tragedies, I'm just so happy to see him experience that.
  14. I wasn't nervous the whole game. Part of it was because of getting the early lead, I'm sure. But this game felt different. I've been a nervous wreck this whole month. But the last two days, I've been really chill. There was just a calm, easy feeling, as if this outcome was predetermined.
  15. At this point, it doesn't really matter, because we're in the World Series, and who gives a horsefeathers? But how nuts is it that we are doing this with a bunch of 22- and 23-year-old kids? Not to get into a whole narrative about Lovable Losers and such, because that's all over now. But we waited 108 years and it's going to be a bunch of kids that finally do it.
  16. Depends on what time Addison leaves the ballpark.
  17. Man, Kyle is a stud. He just pitched one of the better games you'll see in one of the franchise's biggest games in history, going against one of the best pitchers ever. And he was stoic the whole time. I couldn't love him any more. http://i.ytimg.com/vi/oGUc_XAjvYY/maxresdefault.jpg
  18. Holy horsefeathers, we're in the World Series. 4 more, fellas. Take it home.
  19. “No, he can’t play this year,” Epstein said. Nice try, Theo. You almost got me.
  20. Imagine hearing this and seeing him walk up to the plate... at Wrigley... in the World Series.
  21. These guys are ready. The bats are hot. The young kids are shining in the spotlight. Kyle is a stud. Our defense is ridiculous. The Dodgers suck. And they are about to wilt under the pressure. horsefeathers Adrian Gonzalez. horsefeathers 2003. horsefeathers 2008. We're going to the World Series.
  22. GRB is fantastic. There are a couple of posters that are so, so bitter. The Ross stuff is hilarious, too. We don't even care about David Ross that much.
  23. And Frank Demaree is better known as "the guy who is going to be sitting by himself in 10th place on this list by the end of next week."
  24. Sammy's one of the losers I referenced at the bottom of the list with 2. By 2020, I suspect Eloy will join 14 other guys from this era as the only ones with at least 5.
  25. The Cubs are also 0-6 when they're one win away from the World Series since 1984 and I'm watching the game from home. I'm flying in Saturday morning from Germany to catch game 6 in person. Surely that has to be the difference-maker, right? For all of us here, I surely hope so.
