Great post, davell. As you said, it's probably still too early to grade. We've seen practically no dividends so far. But, all it would take would be for a Dylan Cease to really blow up and turn into a big deal for everything before it to be wiped away. And even if it were only, say, Pierce Johnson helping us out of the pen for awhile, I'll take that, too. I think we'll start to see some return on investment, soon, though. -

I forgot I hated the Pirates. Back to hating them for a couple days until I forget they exist again.

I also like how pissed they are that people are writing books about the 2016 Cubs, when they assuredly soaked up every word in the Buzz Bissinger book about their crotchety, fossilized wino.

Well it would be great if we found Mike Trout. Trout can take over Szczur's role when he becomes a free agent.

Also, Jon Lester is ageless and will continue posting 5-win seasons every year until he's 50. And Eddie Butler is going to win the 2019 Cy Young. We've got it all covered already. -

Yeah, if Arrieta is gone, it likely means Yu Darvish or Johnny Cueto was signed in his place. They aren't just going to let Arrieta walk and roll with Mike Montgomery as our third starter. -
I'm convinced that we could take literally any pitcher with a 50.0% ground ball rate and plug him into the rotation and he'd go, like, 16-6 with a 3.10 ERA. Seriously, what's Jon Niese up to these days?

We deserve to win every game because we are better than every team. And there was some stupid horsefeathers that happened tonight. We did play like horsefeathers. But we also had two dongs taken away by the wind. And some weird, stupid baseball stuff happened. But, our older starting pitchers look fantastic. Heyward's chipping in. We just need to get the bats going, which they will.

Candelario with three doubles, a triple, and a walk in 5 PA. -
Of the three starting pitchers who've made two starts, Arrieta's 11.08 K/9 is the lowest. That's a pretty good way to start the year.

I've got Rizzo doing it. Either one is fine, though. I'm not picky. That right there showed that it's gonna have to be Schwarber. He's the only human being capable of it.
