  1. I love all of this. They should have a ceremony before every game. Just a year-long party, while we celebrate before the game and then go kick everyone's asses afterwards.
  2. Put it in every thread on all the message boards for every other team, as well.
  3. The logic over at GRB is unassailable. "They're only good because of a bunch of early draft picks." "If becoming great were inevitable when you draft early, then the Twins should be a powerhouse." "Well, it's not just the drafting, it's also the tanking, and using money to buy free agents." "Hmm... it sounds to me like you are admitting that Theo Epstein is amazing at everything his job entails: drafting, trading. and signing players."

  5. Jake Arrieta with the Cubs in 2013: 4.18 BB/9, 6.45 K/9, but also a .183 batting average against, while his GB% went up from 33.3% in Baltimore to 43.8% with us. The first step in the Bosio Transformation is in contact management. Next will come the K/BB. This is fine. Butler is just following procedure. The 2019 Cy Young will be his.
  6. They are so bad. The bitterness is going to get worse and worse. This season -- and basically every season for the foreseeable future -- is going to be awesome.
  7. I once volunteered and got $800 and was rebooked on another flight 6 hours later. This situation, sounds like they had to stay overnight in Chicago. I agree, stop being cheap. Also, the money is only good in airline credits to be used within one year. At least that was the case with me. Oh, horsefeathers, I thought they gave you the money. That's horsefeathers up. Ah, another loophole. If no one takes their offer, they are forced to give you cash. But they can keep offering vouchers all day long until someone takes the vouchers. They'll even offer $1,300 in vouchers first. But you are allowed to decline the vouchers and demand a check. I'm sure they let you know that right out of the gate, though.
  8. I believe that not only can they give up to 4 times the value of your ticket or a max of $1,300, but they have to give you that, right? They can give you less. But if nobody takes it, they are legally bound to give you that much. So they auction the vouchers off, trying to find the first sucker who will take them up on the offer, before they get up to that max, which they would then be forced to give. Yeah, I think so, which is why it's such shady bull horsefeathers they try to lowball people, acting like they're doing a favor offering $400. Yep. Corporations in a nutshell. "OK, so we have to do this... unless we could be completely greedy and make everyone miserable just to pinch pennies."

  10. Instead he did my favorite managerial move: ""I'll use my closer in the 9th in a tie game, but not until I place him in a situation that is near impossible to escape."
  11. I saw some highlights from their game tonight, and, my god, they are so terrible defensively.
  12. Those mind games on the bases are working wonders. You've now scored a grand total of 4 runs in 34 innings against Lester since the start of last season, Dodgers. Congratulations!
  13. It's a shame Kyle Schwarber is crippled and blind and worth -40 runs defensively.
  14. Another fantastic PA. Another great 2-strike take. We chew up opposing pitchers and spit them out.
