  1. Not sure I've ever seen a Cubs starter pitch 7 innings.
  2. People were upset about losing Not-as-sexy-Jorge for this guy.
  3. A lot easier to do when you're catching a good pitcher and not some bum like Butler or Bad Jake.
  4. Still pumping heat. I could live with him magically adding 2 mph overnight.
  5. Quintana is throwing heat. Four-seam is averaging 94.0 mph. For the season, he's averaged 91.9 mph.
  6. 7 of 8 batted balls have been at least 100 mph exit velocity this inning.
  7. Twice. Two fastest pitches he's thrown this season.
  8. Let's get Jose 4 or 5 runs before he even throws a pitch.
  9. I didn't realize we got to face Ubaldo, too. Man, these guys suck.
  10. So Willson's pretty much been the stud we thought he was going to be.
  11. I'm assuming the pitching was relatively decent when they were playing well. And then they went on that three week stretch where they gave up at least 5 runs every game, and they probably saw all their stats go to horsefeathers, while only dropping a relatively small amount of games.
  12. Plus Happ, and Almora vs. lefties. That's some production we weren't expecting.
  13. Yeah, they are going to finish below .500 and the horrible NL Central will get two teams in the playoffs. Brewers over Diamondbacks in Wild Card Game. Brewers over Dodgers. Cubs over Nats. Then we can settle this thing once and for all.
  14. Plus, just the sheer number of years puts it over the top, in my opinion. The Howard deal was hilarious because everyone knew it was horrible when he signed the extension two years before he was a FA. And the Phillies had to regret it even before it started. But those five years flew by in comparison. Pujols' deal is hindering the Angels for a full decade. And it's ruining that team during the prime of possibly the greatest player ever. Absolutely atrocious.
