  1. [tweet] [/tweet] I think they are close to driving Brisbee insane. He tweeted this out after their marathon loss on Friday night. He hosts this show, btw. [tweet] [/tweet]
  2. We haven't talked enough about how horrible the Giants are. [tweet] [/tweet]
  3. I remember you talking about this last year, but don't remember the details. But how is he able to still pitch like Clayton Kershaw despite this? Is it just something that flares up and then goes away every once in a while?
  4. Finally suffering from the effects of whiplash during NLCS.
  5. Good thing LaStella was sent down. Having a seal playing second base might freak him out a little.
  6. Eh, he'll just get hurt in two weeks anyway.
  7. Why don't you freak out about relief pitchers like a normal person?
  8. I know of a good hand motion for Erlich if he ever makes it to the bigs and gets on base.
  9. I'm sure they are going over the top, but he's not really and never has been a good defender. We tapped in to re-positioning him to not be awful and maximize what he can be, but the reality is he isn't a very good fielder and has an awful arm and probably should be a left fielder. Dexter appears to be drifting back up this year. Of players that played at least 5,000 pitches in center last year (filtered by away games, to try to avoid any home field bias), Dexter was 10th deepest out of 43 with an average starting position of 321 feet. Of 51 players with at least 2,500 pitches in center this year (with the same away filter), he's 32nd deepest at 317 feet.
  10. lol. Remember last year when we had to make up all that ground in the second half to get back to our high-water mark, and it was, like, 30 games over?
  11. My only guess is that he might cost next-to-nothing. It doesn't sound like they are too happy with him or that he's too happy there. If there were a bidding war, I'd "nope" the hell out of it. But, they are definitely ready for a split. So it's probably worth looking into.
  12. Luckily, the other NL Central team that actually has a shot of finishing over .500 is losing 4-2 in the 7th.
  13. Definitely Dexter's fault that a GM offered a billion dollars to a thirty-something CF with a history of being a poor defender, even when he wasn't old.
  14. The Brewers' 8-1 lead is now 8-5. Time to tune in for some schadenfreude.
  15. tbh though i have never had a problem with freaking out in game threads it's when people get all meatbally and start saying our good players (or our good team - although deserved for a while this year) are bad and stuff that i hate *A Cardinal hits a homer* "Welp, the Pirates are winning the division this year."
  16. or literally any game that the Cardinals have ever played in their lifetime.
  17. Weren't, like, 18 runs unearned against Lester against the Pirates in 1st inning?
  18. As much as it sucks to lose to them, coming back the next day and winning like that makes it so much better.
