  1. That reminds me, I was watching Game 6 of the NLCS the other day and I'd forgotten about this guy. This cracked me up.
  2. Never forget.
  3. Hmm... correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the Warriors have actually won a title before. The Warriors have won a title in Klay Thompson's lifetime, unlike the Dodgers. (This would've been better if Durant was like a month younger or Curry 6 months younger.) Maybe Klay let Trayce take his ring into the clubhouse for show-and-tell?

  5. btw Miggy has been horrid since heading to Toronto. .091/.231/.182 in 39 PA. Him running his mouth turned out to be a pretty good thing for us. Avila can actually hit. In fact, he's crushed the ball this year, despite struggling of late. Might be a decent lefty pinch hitter or even a World Series DH candidate if he's hitting well as we go on.
  6. I know I'm not the most excited person about this trade, since We Got The Whole 9 has been beating this drum since before the season started. But, I'm pretty excited about it, mainly because Theo is showing he isn't horsefeathering around and also because the prospect cost was so low. Candelario blows. And Paredes is a fatass 18-year-old in A-ball. They can both kick rocks. Wilson is really good. And he's under control for another year, too. Just a solid trade. I think it will look less boring when he comes in throwing gas in his new uniform.
  7. PTR was dreading the clubhouse catering bill when Paredes got called up.
  8. [tweet] /status/891858392733687809[/tweet] "actually, Avila's .371 wOBA as a catcher is bad" is some kinda take He's hitting the ball like 135 mph on average, too. I'm pretty sure his xwOBA on Baseball Savant is even higher than his wOBA.
  9. I accidentally clicked on the Game 7 thread instead of this one. So I started looking through it some. And the final post, from Fred's account, has 69 likes. Nice.
  10. Also, if we get Wilson, that's one less spot we have to go shopping on this off-season. Not a huge plus only being under contract for one more year. But it's a definite plus, especially since Theo's been reluctant to shell out big money or years for relievers.
  11. Basically the one thing Theo hasn't been able to get us is a nasty lefty to bring in late in a game to go against a Bryce Harper or whoever. I'm not counting Chapman, since he was brought in to close and face every batter from the 7th inning on in the playoffs. But we haven't had a real, honest-to-goodness, great lefty set-up guy. However the rest of the pen shakes out in order, it would be nice to bring in, say, Strop, or Wilson depending on match-ups. Duensing has been really good, too. That was a good get by Theo that I was meh on. But he still doesn't inspire me with confidence in a big spot in the playoffs.
  12. If the defending World Champions trade some fat 18-year-old to make their team better, I'm not going to shed any tears.
  13. I'd be fine with it. I'm all for trading every prospect, so basically any trade that improves the team would make me happy. He's a lefty that throws hard and misses bats. He helps get the ball to Wade. He makes the 'pen incredibly deep and really good. Can't have enough 'pen arms. If Avila is added, even better. It makes a lot of sense to shop for that package. I'd still like another starter, but if it's not such a big concern as it was two weeks ago, or even a week ago.
  14. Damn, I didn't realize Lackey's velocity was up today. He might actually be decent if he can keep it up.
  15. Can't believe I was such a ninny and/or didn't bother to check how many games each team had to play.
  16. Sorry, I meant they deserve to get ridiculed for their idea. Not you and yours, because I agree with you that they are just posturing.
  17. I'd say zero. He'll clear waivers probably. But, Detroit would need to do a 180 on what his value is. Supposedly they think he's worth Javy or Happ lol. i think they're just playing hardball (possibly PR to make it seem to the fan base like it wasn't easy to let him go) and eventually he'll be moved for next to nothing to move the salary This is my guess, too. But this is a step too far. You deserve to be ridiculed for even suggesting as much.
  18. Credit where it's due. Lackey pitched well in a big game, the ill-timed homer aside. i still hate you, though, Horseteeth.
  19. Keep winning series. We're going to run away with this thing. P.S. The Brewers suck.
  20. I guess you now have to go poop every time the Cubs go to extra innings. or every time Heyward bats, we might be on to something great here No pooping at work. Better hold that horsefeathers in.
